I had the pleasure of flying with John this morning who is a really nice guy.

He had a chat with the cabin crew and a couple of pax in J.

He made comment that he is thankful for having great employees who are dedicated to making flying a great experience.

I look forward to more flights on DJ!

looks like height is a factor to be CEO of an airline in Australia!!!!!

Good stuff. I have been in the forward cabin with Geoff Dixon and many years ago James Strong. Both were complete gentlemen and very positive in their attitude whilst on board, it would be rather bad PR to behave in any other manner though. Did JB eat the food?

Not sure as I didn't recognise him until after the rubbish collection when we went chat with the cabin crew in the rear of the aircraft.

I am over 6ft btw

Nice one - good to see him flying his own metal and interacting with the front line staff unlike a certain other major Australian CEO who travels on competitors!

As we am not sure of the reason why AJ flew on SQ, perhaps comparing, who knows? But he was on the flight returning and also on the first A380 flight after they were grounded...

i am sure JB has flown on other airlines too... we just don't read it...

Agreed, don't think it's a big deal at all...more likely they needed a flight at a particular time and like any business traveller they took the airline which met that requirement.

yes of course - it was a relevant example though of the huge differences in staff engagement between the companies...

Most likely QFs schedule didn't agree with his so SQ was taken. It probably happens a lot more in the industry then we realise.

I am sure that he has only flown Qantas and VA!

You would hope senior airline execs try other airlines from time to time.

SQ of course fly three services a day from MEL to SIN whereas QF only ONE. SQ has four services a day from SYD whereas QF only two and they depart at the same time.

It would not be hard for the schedule to not suit any QF traveller when compared to SQ going to SIN from most Australian cities.

JB will always come down to the back galley to chat to the crew. I have flown with him twice, he's a lovely guy. :)

But how can you know that? For all you know AJ does engage with staff whilst on a flight. It's a very poor remark to say without anything to back it up.

Respectfully I did provide the example of AJ travelling SQ as an indication of staff engagement juxtaposed to JB travelling on VA.

If you don't agree that's fine but it doesn't make my view any less valuable than yours.

The reasoning given for him travelling on SQ was that it was the only way to get there and back in a day. I actually think that is a pretty poor excuse - he could have flown QF and spent the day working on the aircraft - the little feller does need to sleep so why not do it in SIN?

Thus illustrating why hoardes of pax are deserting QF in droves (howls of 18% from AJ) and that he really doesnt get it.

He probably doesnt like the service either.
