A couple of things:
1) They can and do move you at whim around on flights without telling you. If you ever book on Jetstar, or book friends or rellies on them make sure you keep on checking what is happening with their flights.
My sister-in-law recently booked a holiday in CNS, up from MEL on QF and back on JQ, for early August. Me being the cynic I am, checked the flights the other night and was shocked to find they'd moved her from a 6pm departure (cancelled it) to a 6am departure, ruining a whole day of a four day holiday. JQ refunded fare, and thankfully with a month to go there was a comparable fare around the same time on DJ - but this was just luck that there is a sale on at the moment & that I happened to check the JQ booking - absolutely none of this thanks to JQ (except for the refund).
Similarly my parents were booked on JQ back from CNS in late August and have been moved nearly 6 hours later, and are now facing a 2 hr drive home from the airport at midnight instead of 6pm. Luckily they were not fussed about it!
2) In doing all this I checked the T&C very closely. Was not aware that unlike DJ & QF, on JQ if you cancel anything other than the Flexi fare you can only use the credit on the same city pair. DJ puts it into a credit shell for use anywhere at anytime, and on QF you can use the credit on any ticket to the same or greater value. Therefore JQ's conditions are quite restrictive.
Apologies to all who know this already, but I thought it useful to those who don't. Anyway, as far I am concerned when QF is not available or not an option, I'll definitely take DJ over JQ.
