Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

On Friday 26 June, JQ48, the overnight 2150 hours ICN down to SYD took off at 2315 with B788 VH-VKB. Gate arrival is shortly, at 1002 hours, 57 minutes late.

Tuesday 30 June sees extensive delays on JQd, as is the case with the other domestic airlines, probably due to earlier fog and continuing lower east coast inclement weather.

A320 VH-X3A is on JQ569, the 1630 hours BNE down to MEL airborne at 1845 hours. Gate arrival should be 2108 hours, 128 minutes late.

JQ465 has -X3B. This is the 1605 hours BNK-MEL in the sky at 1717 with gate arrival shortly at 1913 hours, 48 late.

A321 VH-VWQ operating JQ531, the 1830 hours SYD-MEL had not departed as of 1909 hours.

The 1640 hours SYD down to MEL, JQ523 with A320 VH-VGO took off at 1759, but as at 1915 was still taxiing to its stand in Melbourne, so it's more than an hour late.

The NAN-SYD JQ120 should arrive at 1958 hours, 33 minutes late with A321 VH-OYW.

On Sunday 5 July, A3231 VH-OYK's first flight was the 0700 hours SYD-MEL that did not become airborne until 0826 hours, gate arrival being 0937 hours, 57 minutes late.

It has then turned into JQ508, the 0925 hours MEL back up to SYD, airborne at 1035. This arrived at 1148 hours, 53 late.

An aircraft must have failed as its current flight is JQ537, the 1100 hours SYD-MEL that was in the sky at 1251. This should arrive at about 1412 hours, 97 late. It should then undertake JQ536, the 1315 hours MEL-SYD optimistically forecast to depart at 1445 hours.

A321 VH-OYK has had a shocker of a day on Sunday 5 July 2026.

Its first flight, the early morning JQ826, 0700 hours SYD down to MEL didn't take off until 0826, arriving at 0937 hours, 57 minutes late.

It is about to operate JQ823, the 1755 hours BNE down to SYD estimated to depart at 2030, 155 minutes late, so it's lost time throughout the day. Finally, it's rostered to run JQ824 from SYD back to BNE, the 2015 hours that'll be lucky to push back by 2240 at a guess. 'The delegate' seems to approve almost all requests for post-curfew takeoffs but there's a chance JQd may have to ask for this if further delays occur.

That’s going to be super tight to get that one out. If it doesn’t hit the BNE runway by 9 they are likely stuffed.

JQ823 took off from BNE at 2100 hours with SYD gate arrival said to be 2203 hours (a fast trip). However VA996 is ahead of it and showing a gate arrival time (adding my arbitrary five minutes to the landing time) of 2216 hours.

A request for the final northbound flight JQ824 back to BNE to be given a curfew exemption seems extremely likely (assuming JQd doesn't do an aircraft swap in Sydney to get this BNE-bound flight underway earlier).

UPDATE: FR24 is now showing the JQ823 landing time in Sydney as 2213 so by the time it arrives at the gate it'll be 2218. Given earlier performances today, most unlikely the aircraft could depart by 2245 to take off prior to the curfew commencing at 2300 hours.
