JQ flights in starclass are quite cost effective as far as status run goes?

an example:

SYD <-> BKK
- QF Business will cost ~AUD$4500
- JQ StartClass will cost ~AUD $1900
The flights to BKK/HKT etc should be reasonably comfortable as afternoon/evening flights in leather covered "Millenium" style seats. Note that on the return for these, flights are scheduled as redeyes and sleeping may be a bit more difficult.

Too good to last! How long will QF continue to give business class SC's and cabin bonus for StarClass fares on JQ?

Why would they stop? They are touting StarClass as being equivalent to domestic business class. If that is how they are going to position the product offering then I would think that they would stick with the business class equivalents for accrual of mileage and SC's.

You saw the comparison mentioned. Return SYD-BKK in QF J ~$4500 (~$18.75/SC) and return SYD-BKK in JQ StarClass ~$1900 (~$7.9/SC). How long before passengers seeking QF/OneWorld status dump the QF J product and go to JQ starclass. Possibly JQ and QF will not clash on destinations like they have with BKK.

Also doing some calculations the numbers do not add up. Return SYD-BKK in JQ economy ~$1050 (no SC's), JQ JetFlex ~$1400 (~$11.66/SC) and JQ starclass ~$1900 (~$7.9/SC). I just think someone at QF will notice the anomaly and make the relevant "enhancements".

Of course.

Pssst - best value is in combination with domestic flight - so ADL-(SYD-)HKT or BNE-(MEL-)BKK.

I've booked a JQ trip to BKK return in * class. I had to go there anyway in relation to my employment. They would not stump up a J fare on QF/BA but the 1900 is within parameters. The 240SC's + 19K QFF points (WP) is a bonus.

True, it may change; but I believe JQ international have a lot of competition ATM so I don't see a change soon.

Did anyone get the economy $A32(812bt) plus tax mel-bkk and hkt-syd deals?
