JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

This is typical of JAL - they've done this for the last few seasons when the 777 has ended up on the SYD route. They firstly list the aircraft on the schedule and load a seatmap with F seats, but with F0 A0 inventory until they are reasonably confident of operating an F cabin. The moment F>1 they generally also load 1-2 A seats per day, so set your EF alerts accordingly :)

They are doing this as the 777s are slated for retirement, but the exact dates are still unclear for late 2026 and largely dependant on external factors - particularly the delivery of their international A350s, which will free up 787s, which may end up back on the SYD route.

@sudoer is A inventory what generally triggers QF rewards as well? I'm seeing plenty across dates I want to travel in either direction but nothing on Qantas website.

No, sorry my post was slightly misleading. I'm referring to "A" as awards, but JAL also has A revenue seats.

It's not that case that every A revenue seat is also an award, unfortunately, though I wish it were the case!
