Is it worth paying for "VIP" customs and immigration clearance at HKT ?

Hoping some learned fellow members can assist with this;

We are flying SQ Biz class into HKT late afternoon on December 29th. Will SQ issue us with any "priority" C & I clearance "vouchers", and if not, should we expect the wait time at immigration to be lengthy.

I have just checked the Coral VIP service charges, and with the parlous state of the A$, it equates to $60 per person, which is no small impost for the three of us.

Any thoughts/suggestions from members will be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards
frank

I have not experienced clearance at HKT (busy as it is then) to be worth expediting at that rate. Can't help you with experience on those SQ vouchers but if you say it's no small impost, I would suggest $180 would go a very long way once you're through, worth more than saving on any delay getting through the airport.

Have a great trip!

Thank you for that. Yes , it’s a tricky one. I’ll ring SQ to check as to whether they supply a fast-track pass.

Seems - at least in 2018 - that there might not be any fast track based on class of service. The link to the thread on FT suggests fast track is only at bangkok. They go on to say that Coral uses the diplomatic lane.

many thanks. I read through and it does seem there is no “official “ fast track, only a pay for service option of Coral - or others who offer this service.

I have not flown SQ in or out of HKT but MH certainly provides priority treatment for J PAX (and OWEs) there (through Coral).
I can't remember if TG did on the occasions I have arrived there from BKK.

Also worth remembering there is a new international terminal at HKT. So it isn't as awful as it used to be.
