I was most surprised when TNT delivered my 4S today... on a Sunday!?
When queried he stated that it was only for apple products and specifically requested by them.

Too bad I inadvertantly chopped up my old sim card trying to get it to fit in the micro sim slot... :oops:

and you cannot set it up without one :(

You can set it up on Wi fi if you have it...
 
FYI..

Apple Store Robina ran out of Stock on Saturday Morning and isn't receiving anymore stock till Monday morning. They are expected to sell out fairly quickly.

She wasn't very interested when I asked if she would marry me... but I guess that is her most-asked question.

Haven't used the Siri much, but a couple of observations so far - she is good if you ask "Call xx_x" - that's faster than looking up the number. But I am really surprised that if you ask "Where is the closest xx_x", or, "How do you get from A to B", then she has no answer - says that she can only find businesses in USA - I think that is a big omission.

Am loving that with the new software, iphoto events on iphone/ipad are now in the same order as my laptop, rather than random.

Siri is still officially beta software, which is unusual for Apple, and they advised up-front that not all features would be available in all locations. Apple has promised updates next year to extend the business and map functionality outside the US as well as add additional languages.
 
I am disappointed with the location thing - not for looking up businesses - I can get that but surely how hard would it have been to integrate Siri and maps. Does it do any location services such as the much vaunted "remind me to call my wife when I leave the office"?
 
Pre-ordered mine via the vodafone website, my pop ordered his over the phone the next day, his got dilivered on the friday so that sucked. Should be here today or tomorrow, i got the white 16gb one. I have already played around with Siri, we are married :p but might be a different response with my phone ;). Upgrading from my 2yr old E63.

I spoke to Apple regarding the process and let them know that, as a first time Apple Online Store buyer, I couldn't see any reason to buy direct again in the future or recommend it to friends.
 
My white 64Gb 4S was just delivered to my door. Restoring now... :D

Telstra has similar issues; pre-orders are taking forever to ship out, and people who ordered later are getting the phone before those who ordered earlier. I'm in the first 1000 and havent made any progress beyond confirming all my details and passing the credit check. Trying to be patient, but very tempted just to walk into a store to get one, but Im thinking Im probably too late for that now...
 
Got a call from Telstra Business this morning - all out of 64GBs which have apparently been very popular. They did have the 32GBs (which he offered me), but that's not what I want.

They are expecting more stock imminently, so he's promised a call back later today or tomorrow morning.

I did consider going around some stores on Saturday but I decided that I'd much prefer sitting by the harbour drinking cider instead - and wait a few days for one to be delivered :D
 
Hmmmm.

I haven't even bothered ordering, my slightly lazy approach is to walk stroll into the Apple Store when I get home this afternoon and pick one up.

I wonder if I'll have a chance...
 
Just got a call from Virgin Mobile and was told that I would recieve a 50% discount on the ETC of my SGS if I wished to upgrade to the 4GS...

Given how much I love my SGS and the fact that I don't really want to pay an extra $20 a month and get less included calls and data I politely declined...

TNT delivering on a Sunday for apple only...

Must be the reason why my important overnight express package that needed to delivered took 5 days to be delivered...:oops:
 
The amount of pre orders have been huge.

I heard that more phones have been delivered today to the warehouse so more will be getting delivered tomorrow and Wednesday.

I got my 4S on Friday morning and have had fun with SIRI.

Was going to start a thread on the strangest answer you have had from SIRI but not really a AFF type topic.
