While I do love a good pun, I'm unable to replicate your error. Please let me know if you're till experiencing this.

Thanks, I'll let the team know. May I ask whether you're accessing the site from a link, or www.qantasgolfclub.com?
It was on my laptop, having accessed from the QF email (and not signed in, as at that stage wasn't a member). I didn't take screen shots. I am trying to replicate now on my iPad (trying both signed in and not, as well as accessing through email or direct to website).

The only initial difference is that when I typed in th field "search by location" the first two times, there were no drop down boxes with suggested responses.

Managed to collate a number of issues for the team. accessed by typing in website in browser and not signed in. all on iPad below

Only 1 course in Sydney - I think not  I note the two options in the drop down box "Sydney" or "NSW - Sydney", seems a double up (and across all other state capitals)

As Qld - Brisbane only has two courses:

but yet Brisbane only now has 4 (yet other searches show 12 IIRC) and Pelican Waters ain't Brisbane (try Sunshine Coast)

I signed up to Premium this morning as it's free for me, being P1. I note that in the email it stated:

As a valued member, you are eligible to take up complimentary Premium membership for the lifetime of your Platinum One status, valued at $249 per year.

However when I now check My Profile on Qantas Golf Club, it suggests an entirely different expiry date (my P1 year ends in Feb 2015):

Will my membership last a year, or 3 months?

As for the courses offered, I see this in the media release:

From today Qantas Golf Club members will be able to go online to book tee times and earn Qantas Points for a round of golf at over 45 Australian golf courses, with Premium members able to access over 65. The courses available will continue to grow over the coming months.

Quite a small number unfortunately, and I note that the golf course I live on, RACV Royal Pines, isn't offered (at least not when I searched earlier). They're about to host the Australian PGA Championship for the second year, and 9 holes have recently undergone a massive redevelopment and look amazing! I can't wait to try the new 9 after the PGA Championship. The course also hosts the Ladies Masters, and has done so since 1990. Following next years Ladies Masters the other 9 holes will also be redeveloped. I would hope RPR isn't far from becoming bookable through QGC.

I might try convince my dad to book some rounds over Christmas through my account, get some points... but I generally play to my own set of rules :p it makes the game much more enjoyable!

I'm looking forward to my new membership card too ;)

I really wish Qantas would frankly, cut the cough.

They make it harder for leisure passengers to earn points (or people who work for cheap organisations, like me) then they keep inventing these coughamamie ways to earn little clumps of points.

How about, instead of wasting time and effort into these things? Make it easier for your bread and butter passengers to actually fly with you more often and earn points that way?

For example, my SO and I are looking at going J next year to Europe. Considering how much Qantas is charging for those flights, compared to OW partners or even straight Emirates or Etihad... which have better service and products... why bother with them, seriously? The ONLY thing the makes me consider trying to find decent QF flights is maximum SC and points. But trust me, I'll be trying to find EK metal for those flights.

So, this Qantas Golf thing is just a symptom of a broader problem.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Had I known about that, I might've considered paying to claim the 5000 bonus points (assuming they're offered with the promo code?)!
That's what I was thinking, already have a handicap so possible points plus professional interest made it worth the $50

Were there any conditions attached to the promo code that suggested points wouldn't be given? Can you give a hint where you found the code?

I suspect in a month there'll be lots of codes if it has a very small sign-up.

no mention of conditions that I could see, the code was from Golf Australia

As expected, pretty quiet on this thread. Are Qantas getting concerned with the take up. Sorry, 5K points just isn't worth it.

I suspect that they have miss judged how this should work, most golfers that want to play in comps would already have a handicap and some sort of reciprocal arrangements
Added to that ,the green fees for the courses are not special at all

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It's a very disappointing product offering but I've paid for it for the handicap which I am using in my first comp this weekend :).

No tee-times at any fully private courses, no weekend tournaments. You'd think with Golf Australia on board they could deliver at least some exclusives even if it's one timeslot per weekend at various courses (in Sydney the Australian, Royal Sydney, NSW etc).

One positive so far is I'm hoping there's not much competition for the trip to Cape Kidnappers :).

As seen with a couple of other GA initiatives, they go and launch things with very minimal consultation and discussion with the golf courses. This relied on top tier courses being onboard, and those are the facilities that will continue to thrive without the Qantas offering.

They should have locked courses in before launching.

How much is the premium membership? Any more than $20 and it's not worth it for 5000 bonus points.
