Chatting to Double Bay IC staff this morning and they told me that the Coogee IC has had its opening delayed for another month and one it does, the lounge & spa won't be open for at least 6 months.
That rules it out for me for time being.

When’s the DB IC closing?
At least one year away apparently.
Its still my favourite for Sydney but its starting to be a bit tired

They got approval last week

I don’t mind it, RA treatment was average, but room rates are OK compared to the city. I always like to checkout the nearby woolies, apparently it’s a trial store for new things.

Coogee won’t be much of a substitute I suspect, although it’s come along way from when it was a holiday inn

Wow.
I am definitely going to miss this place.

Has anyone staying in Room 524, reported hearing someone singing in the wee small hours ?
520 & 524 are the rooms I have been given most often over the last few years.
I’ve heard both of those rooms are “the room”

LOL. Yeah, I looked it up ... one source said 524. Took a selfie outside once. Bit odd, I know ....

Looked up room prices for August to November ...

Not going to be cheap ! $600. - $800. with no Club access ?

Plus, there was no mention of a Club Lounge in the room listings.

Is the tactic going to be, to 'sell' Club access as an 'add-on' ... perhaps at check in ?

They dont have to sell rooms with club access as its free for status guests.

Im guessing however not selling in case of any delays rather than having to refund. Im sure once actually opens they will add the club access rate.

That said im not sure youd get enough value for the extra cost. Plenty of bars and cafes in the area.

"Free for status guests" ?
Not sure what that means ...
Up until a few years ago, I used to get a basic standard room at Sydney IC, and pay $165. for Club access.
The two of us would 'eat / drink' the $165. over Breakfast, Afternoon Tea, and Twilight Drinks / buffet.

I think they mean the Lounge Access pass that you get after 40 nights.

Yep annual lounge membership can be selected as an award once you have stayed enough nights and royal ambassador status also get club access.

Club access is imo worth paying for it if staying at an island resort which isnt near other options but in city locations i wouldnt want to be at hotel all day and night. YMMV.
