It was a dreadful (and repeated) mis-spelling in the WP email. #youhadonejob

There is probably a reason that "Indigenous Australian" cuisine has never really taken off here... or anywhere for that matter.
Depends on their meaning of indigenous. If it’s purely indigenous Australian cuisine then you only have to look at Orana in Adelaide. Would be hard presssed to find a better restaurant in Australia, their food is amazing.

I thought at first that "surely" the OP was having a laugh with the spelling - but now I realize it is so!!??

This is absolutely appalling!! In many areas a simple typo can be forgiven, but when a company starts to dabble in "Indigineous" areas, and cannot even spell the word, well that is just breath-taking - even for Qantas this is a new low.

My God, doesn't anyone senior there check anything??????

It was a fish dish - ceviche style a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get the full name, but certainly did not give off the impression it was indigenous.
Personally was not a fan.
Whoops - this was the off menu plate of the day, got them mixed up after seeing the menu amaroo posted (same as on QF93) this month.

Probably from the same pen as this gem:

TBF the Sri Lankan chook sticks were nice :)

However, the real joke of the menu was the wine list...
What flight? I had St Henri 2015 3-4 times in the last couple of months.

The chicken skewers were delicious!

"Would be hard presssed to find a better restaurant in Australia"? Surely a joke......

Aside from the Champagne QF F wine lists are below EK J, possibly equivalent to EK’s yet to be seen Prem Econ cabin.
Oh yeah - but to be fair, no one has ever accused QF First as being "good"..... :)
Which actually brings me to a question I have always wanted to ask..... how hard can it be to have the "best" First Class? Assuming you are a first-world airline with cash to spend, you literally have your competitors to look at and copy if needed, right? If I was AJ, I would look at the likes of SQ, EK etc and think to myself "ok, what are they doing differently that I could copy"?

Should have stated IMO.
All personal opinion of course but the meals are absolutely stunning
No I am sure it's great... it's just that the foodie elite in Australia seldom look beyond Sydney or Melbourne....

Not just your opinion either... Orana is generally accepted to be one of the very top restaurants in Australia, and would fit in among the best in the world. It just had a residency in Sydney for a couple of weeks which was amazing.

Not saying it isn't good, but.....

But at the end of the day it is all subjective, right? I have been to 9 out of these 10, and generally speaking they probably deserve to be in the list, except Rockpool - which I hate. I love Est though. But I really think Tetsuya's is overrated - maybe I have been there too many times over the past 15 years or so, but I find it pretentious and boring and I always leave hungry!!! Drop $500 on dinner only to end up at Hungry Jacks eating a Whopper!

If I ever go to Adelaide I will certainly try Orana!

Getting slightly OT but that website is not up to date at all, looks like it is at least 5 or maybe 10 years old. Sepia, Marque and Rockpool (in its iteration mentioned) have all closed. Sepia this year, Rockpool maybe 2 or 3 years ago, and Marque at least 3 years ago.

Good Food Guide is up to date for NSW + VIC only. Gourmet Traveller keeps a national list: https://www.gourmettraveller.com.au...guide/top-50-restaurants-australia-2020-17590

EDIT: Of course all subjective, but when the same restaurants come up again and again reviewed by different people, you get a good idea.

I agree with you.

I've been to Rockpool quite a few times and left underwhelmed every single time. Tetsuya's - only went once and haven't bothered going back.

I love Quay, Attica, and Est though.

List is a bit out of date though.

Actually now that I have thought about it..... anything with Rockpool in the top 10 is a bad list.
