I'm in the QF Lounge thread

The longest I have spent onboard before takeoff was 4 hours on a SQ flight. We had aborted takeoff due to a door indicator light. They were confident it could easily be fixed so we went to a remote stand. Free-flowing Krug and served the first meal on the ground. Even restocked the Krug before we left!

Absolutely you are 100% on the return QF36, the plane was busted. I had forgotten the order, a couple of P1 members got offloaded early from F and sent back to NZ in some mysterious circumstances. I will be back in MEL 16 Feb or earlier but would you like to join us am 17 Feb (I think this is the correct date)
I'm flying MEL-DFW just prior to this, so won't be anywhere near MEL (unless there's a REALLY LONG delay and I shall be found in a puddle of champagne somewhere possibly).

In MEL J lounge until 5:30 pm

I'm currently in the J lounge at Sydney and it's quite comfortable.

I was previously in the F lounge and had the salt and pepper squid which was fine. I ordered a champagne and a half full glass was delivered with a rather disdainful look form the female attendant.

OK I thought everyone has a bad day. Then I asked for a top up and it was met with an even more disdainful look.

So I thought this is going nowhere and left it at that. A nice male attendant later poured me a decent glass of shiraz which I drank and then left for the J lounge.

Is this what Qantas really wants to do?

It's happened to me before.

the half pours of bubbles have been going on for years. Why? I have no idea. quite frustrating indeed.

so it's not just you, it's some sort of service standard.

There are new serving staff in the Syd INT F lounge. I asked for a Glenmorangie (yes they have that now) and he didn't have a clue what I was asking for. He said he would look it up in the menu!!! I gave up and got it myself.

Recently in the Sydney F lounge I was told I couldn't have a double shot of Baileys unless I had ice in it. I said it was for my coffee, told the attendant she could put ice in it anyway but I will just take it out and the attendant told me just to take it then. It WAS for my coffee by the way.

That’s a rather odd one for someone who’s done their RSA (or maybe they haven’t)… 60ml / a double shot of Bailey’s isn’t even a single standard drink! Maybe they thought it was a spirit. Either way, the ice isn’t necessary

I am sure they consider it a spirit. I would imagine they would have to do their RSA to serve alcohol but thought it very strange. All good, I got it anyway.

I didn't think they did double shots anywhere in the Q lounge system.
