So Even though vouchers show expirty dates of 09/13 and 11/13 I cannot use these as my membership expires on 31st July ( i have renewed) is this correct I had 3 kits go missing hence why they gave me an extra certificate and the longer dates.

Book them before the date of expiry and you should be fine.

Also can you confirm if the voucher expiry is the start or end of month on voucher?

Book them before your ambassador expiry for stays before the voucher expiry.

Then you should have no issue booking the vouchers expire on the last day of the month indicated.

Well, my Ambassador renewal pack finally arrived ...

Letter is dated 10th. May 2013. ( RA expiry 30 April 2013 ).

So, just 55 days to Australia, huh ?

I did notice on the package, a French post label:

" En case de non distribution"
" La Poste Gonesse HM
95 Gonesse"

No wonder it seems to take forever ...

Also, no 5,000 points voucher or code in these 'renewal' packs ??

The code should be in the renewal letter.

Not on my letter anywhere ...
I've checked it thoroughly. No code. No reference to 5,000 points.
The letter makes a point ( no pun intended !! ) about being a former RA, and not requalifying etc.

Now another issue is, this letter states:
"Your new Ambassador credentials will be forwarded to you prior to your current Royal Ambassador expiry date".

My RA expired 30th. April. The actual card states May. This letter is dated 10th. May ...

So, I'm wondering there has been a long-standing fault in the system, whereby the computer system expires Members off a month earlier than Management believe is the case ??

If this letter says I will receive a new kit BEFORE RA expiry ( or at least dispatched for a little two month trip around the world !! ), AND, the actual card says May, then why do the RA accounts expire the month before ( Eg. April in my case ) ??

As an RA, if one books a Reward Night for Sydney IC ( the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday prior to first full weekend of the month ), where it will cost 'half regular points' ... Ie., 25,000 points for Sydney IC ...

Will full RA privileges apply, or what are the proven benefits offered for this type of Reward Night ??

I would like to know, prior to booking, so as an 'informed' assessment can be made of the true 'value' of such a booking.

The property needs to be on the list to have a special reward night discount, I am yet to see any Aussie properties feature, and if they did expect nothing as far as benefits go.

When staying on Reward Nights, all Ambassador and Royal Ambassador Privileges apply with the exception of upgrades, free Pay-TV film per stay, 24-hour guaranteed room availability, 8:00 am early check-in and complimentary mini-bar beverages (where a cost for these benefits is applicable)

IC Sydney is known to be not overly generous with benefits that need not be given.

I don't stay at the SYD IC on principle. When I was RA I had to fight for my entitlements. That's just not on!

My view, an informed choice would say low value.

I rang the Reservation line last month in regard to this and was told that this was no longer available even though it is on their website, consultant said it will be removed. Interested if I was given the wrong information.

Disappointed, to say the least.
What's on the website, is not always the actual case, so I have noted from the various forums.
I could accept that on PB nights, there may be no upgrades etc. but when on 50% off normal points, or the '40,000 points + $70.' option, I was hoping someone was able to report a 'positive experience' ...

if i choose the suite upgrade, how much do I have to pay for using the club?
is it $150 or is there a discount for RA?

If its 65 that would be reasonable... Otherwise, I would go to hyatt instead!
