IHG Ambassador Program

I have 3 upcoming stays with IHG, 2 in Aus and 1 in NZ. If I purchase Priority Privilege now can I apply the certs retrospectively to my bookings or must I cancel the current bookings and make new ones with cert details?

Technically you need to rebook. Some hotels *may* let you use certs in that manner... But it is not advised to try.
When you book through the correct links an affiliate code is inserted into the booking. This gives some tracking back to pp (if not commission) so they want things to be done correctly.

How do you actually make the booking? With a code through the ihg website?

And can anyone check some dates for me? A couple for PP BOGO availability and 1 for AMB Weekend free night availability?

Still a hard choice as I most likely have a stay at the IC Sanctuary Cove coming up as well later in the year, the Ambassador upgrades do look nice!

Sorry to get a bit OT but at the MEL IC do you have a favorite room type and/or a best bang for buck rate to book considering the upgrade at check in?

Melbourne IC are really stingy with upgrades, if your an ambassador and book the BOGO the upgrade is good value for the $$$, club is a waste of money, different story in SYD or ADL.

Does it also show up in the Bookings section of the IHG Website once you've booked it through PP? I kinda like the certainty of it being there

Its usually like fully flex and always visible in your reservations.

+1 agreed about the 'tight offerings" even for the loyalists.
IIRC, the club was/is like an old gentlemen's club circa 1940s..
Where the noble gentry residents 'scan" your wealth & status upon entering..

I recently made a reservation using my Ambassador Free Weekend night certificate at InterContinental Sydney. In past years free Weekend Night Certificate stays at ICH Syd have earned points but the current reservation is tagged "Points to be earned: 0" - this appears in a block to the right of my reservation details on the IHG website, as shown below. Note that I am paying $$ (not points) for the charged weekend night.

Travel Profile: Business
Points to be earned: 0
Account Balance: 1,234,567

I haven't completed the stay yet so don't know whether my paid night will collect points.

Comments, anyone? Does a paid weekend night, combined with a certificated free weekend night, no longer meet the conditions for a "qualifying night" in order to trigger IHG rewards points accumulation? Or is this another little nickle and dime trick courtesy of ICH Sydney? (IMHE, ICH Sydney has historically been an expert at nickel and dime tactics.)
