Ah those were the days @crazydave98 😊. Still fondly remember Peta ringing me up to get Brett Godfrey out of the office from time to time; then organising the focus group of Australian Frequent Flyer members (all QFF Platinums) to meet with you and Brett to tell you what they gave us (benefits) to help you design the Velocity program.

20 years on, where does the time go 🤷 . We should re-create the meeting group 💡

@IainF , @NM , Dave Noble - who else was in the focus group?

Yeah but now Virgin (aka Bain) have trashed their frequent flyer program by moving towards a spend based status tier system....a lot of people like myself have become increasingly disengaged with the Velocity program. I have gone from Velocity Platinum---> Gold--> Silver-->Forever Red!

Criteria for the original Velocity status was based on spend - so they are reverting ... although with much tougher criteria than back then.

I'd suggest the disengagement is more instant than increasing following the recent change. That's clear from the sheer volume - in terms of noise and number - of objections and disapprovals here of the new spend-based system. But it's too soon to know the full effect. If you've dropped that far already you've gradually distanced yourself from VA but not because of the new VFF system.

I'm sure we'd all love to get any insights from @crazydave98 regarding Velocity's reaction to AFF members posts in response to the program changes.
