Lovely to see you all enjoying yourselves and obviously having a good time at dinner as there haven't been any photos yet!

Sounds like a great weekend. I trust Buzzard did not actually tip over and topple right into the wine vat!

It was fairly quiet; transport (taxis) were and issue due to there being a (competing) 'event' nearby. I will break the 'what goes on tour stays on tour' protocol to reveal that the dinner was actually fancy dress!

A big thank you to all our organisers :)
We saw a variety of different wineries and learnt a lot.. A great snap shot of the Hunter Valley.
Also a special thank you for our taxi to dinner and lift back to the Crowne Plaza.. Very much appreciated :)

Before I go.
Some pictures of Tyrrells..
The awesome floor..

Looks like a fabulous day - sad to have missed out.

A big thank you to the girls for organising such a magnificent event. You have me worried now as you have raised the bar so high. It is such a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes which we did more than once. Tyrrell's put on a fabulous tasting opportunity by pouring wines "side by side" so that you could experience the difference between vintages. It was certainly worth the drive to attend this event.

We have now left Cessnock for the drive back to ADL via the Bells Line of Road.
Our first stop tonight is at Mecca - Bathurst!
Staying at Rydges Mt Panorama, tomorrow we will visit the National Motor Racing Museum. Might even do a lap although I don't know how good a time I'll set in a diesel Prado.
Tonight we are going to walk around the track, relax, enjoy a wine we purchased and try the race simulator.
As for our car, it is in the garage retired with an oil leak.
Luckily it is only a bottle of cooking oil that leaked.

You could always go off-road...in the kitty-litter.

I'm wondering if we should have dress code for the ZQN weekend :)

Thank you you to those that made it to the Hunter Valley for this event. I do understand that it is not the easiest place to arrange transport to or accomodation.

I have made contact with the cellar door at each winery that we visited and thanked them for such a great day. They all commented that it was great to have such an enthusiastic group and could see that we were enjoying ourselves.

Thanks again for all the efforts that went into the weekend, it was great and i have come home with some good wine and more on the way :)

We ended up having a quiet dinner on Saturday night and missed everyone for breakfast Sunday morning, went to a few more cellar doors (got member discounts at all but 1 and they got a very small order because of it)... was a great weekend.. and now i am sitting in Melbourne working for the next 6 days..
