I have a savings account with them for 20+ years and still had to submit 2 payslips and credit check eventhough the pay goes in every month - go figure! Anyway, it also took forever for the 60K points to post. Finally saw it after 3 months on the account but hasn't been posted onto QFF yet.

I got my card this week finally. No id check needed, but several calls, letters and lengthy evaluations to review payslips and rental incomes... definitely the lengthiest card app so far, and for one of the lowest credit limits, but 60k points will make it all worthwhile

Cancelled my card yesterday (should of done it months ago) and had the fee refunded. I'll keep it for a further two months and consider it 60k points for free.

Applied today (finally, other better offers kept jumping the queue!)

I see that the 60,000 point offer has been extended until the 31st of August on the HSBC website

Met minimum spend in month 1, first bill received yesterday, bonus points swept to QFF account this morning.

Although the application process was tedious (and the online and app banking is pretty poor) at least the points delivery is good.

Does anyone know if the points only get processed monthly? I went over the $3000 just after the statement was issued - Im hoping that now im over they might start processing it but dont know if it will only happen next month now?

why did they refund the fee?

So far, I'm finding that

Momentum Energy (both Direct Debit and Manual Payment via website)
ASIC fees
On-street Parking meters

Arent earning QFF points on this card. As such, I think I'm still below the min $3k spend... will be beefing this up tonight to make sure I've earnt atleast 3,000 QFF points with this card (surely that must be qualifying spend?).

Not sure minimal spend matters if it earns QF points or not just as long as you spend the $3k.

Based on my experience with HSBC thus far, I'm not willing to run the chance for a few extra hundred spend to ensure I've earned 3000 QFF points. Definition of Eligible Transaction is subject to interpretation IMO - I'll run on the assumption that 3000 QFF Points has to equal $3000 of eligible transaction spend, therefore cannot be excluded from getting the 60,000 bonus points.

You're lucky. I also met the min spend in the first month, have received the statement a week ago, but no sign of bonus points as yet.

Likewise hit required spend in first month, got spend points each statement, third statement received today has monthly spend points and 60k bonus points. All in my QFF account.

I think if you've been through the hoops before, you're in their system and ID check is not required.

I have an account and I applied today and they want to do the 100 point check. Unreal. I rang up and it was the old offshore call centre brick wall.

Is there an exclusion period for this card and is it enforced?
'Bonus 60,000 Qantas Points offer is available to new HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card holders who spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within 3 months of account opening. Your account must be current, in good order and not in arrears. Points will ordinarily be credited within 8 weeks of making the required spend on eligible purchases. Existing HSBC customers transferring from another HSBC credit card or customers who have held a HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card within the last 18 months or HSBC Premier World Mastercard® or HSBC Staff are ineligible for this offer. Eligible purchases exclude interest free and other promotions, balance transfers, business expenses, cash advances, fees and charges, disputed transactions, BPAY® and any government fee or charge.'

I don't know if the 18 month exclusion period is being enforced.

Is government spend eg council rates no longer eligible for points. My points for this month is way under

As per #256 it does state 'any government fee or charge'.
