Due to popular demand I have started this thread for anyone that has had bad experiences having their points posted from other 1world airlines.

Back in June I flew Finnair SIN-BKK and the SC's and points posted within 1 day of the flight completion. When I returned 2 weeks later BKK-SIN on finnair (I was upgraded to business class at the checkin counter) the points and SC's did not post to my QFF account. I had to send an e-mail to Qantas and then they asked for a fax of boarding passes and e-tickets from the flight. Finally around 3-4 weeks later I received my SC's and points although I still only got credit for discount economy not business class. :D

My boarding passed don't get posted. They are handed to me at check-in and I keep them from then on (except for the few seconds they are in the BP scanner at the gate).

If the flight has not shown up on me FF statement, I don't post them to Qantas. I scan them and attach to an email. Much easier than posting and saves the 50c stamp.

OK firstly, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you bought a discount economy ticket and got a free upgrade, you still earn points and SC as discount economy.

I know your frustration about the delay with points. I flew BNE-MEL-HKG-NRT late last week and both the QF flights were through within hours, yet I am still waiting on CX for HKG-NRT.

It's not just with oneworld airlines that posting to the account goes astray. I have had several examples of Qantas flights that have not posted, even though the number appeared on my Boarding Pass.

As with NM, I scan and fax the BP's to Qantas

In my experience, QF posts within 24 hours of the flight (often faster), BA and AA takes between 3 and 5 days. CX takes about a week. I would always wait 2 weeks before emailing a scan of the BP along with all the ticket details unless I was in need of the points or SCs for some specific purpose.

I waited around 10 days for the return finnair flight to be credited to my qff account considering that the first flight was credited within a day of travel. I think the problem had more to do with the check-in upgrade rather than anything else. :?

I had a disappointing experience a few weeks ago with a flight ORD to LGA on AA. As I've said before on these boards, I much prefer Delta to AA (and am also a member of Delta's FF programme), so I only fly AA when I am sure I can get the points. To that end, I had my TA check twice and confirm in writing that the flight would earn points, and I checked twice myself, on confirming my seat allocation and on ringing to find out check-in time.

Lo and behold, the flight appears on my FF statement, but with zero points recorded against it. Bald answer from Qantas is that not all flights are eligible and this is one of them. Even without all the confirming telephone calls, I have triple-checked the terms and conditions and I cannot see anywhere anything that suggests this was not an eligible flight. Qantas is not interested.

So sod 'em, I'm never flying AA again if I can possibly help it.

A very poor experience and I understand why you are upset over it.

Out of interest, what was the booking class? With AA flights, the problem booking codes are generally O and Q. These booking classes don't earn anything for AA flight in the Qantas program.

I make it a habit to always know what booking class my ticket is in, and check the earning rates myself from the published terms and conditions. Then if my statement did not match my expectation, I would be asking some very detailed questions as to exactly which clause details why my flight in not eligible.

Thanks, NM, for the tea and sympathy!

I am pretty sure that it wasn't an O or Q flight, as I did check the T&C and saw those were excluded. I think it was an "S", but I'll have to check when I get home and find my tickets.

I'm just glad that I didn't miss out for the JFK - LAX leg, which was a horrible flight, especially when followed immediately by the return leg LAX - SYD. I'm never doing that in economy class again!

If it was an S fare, then you are entitled to 50% points for the miles flown and discount economy SCs. If that is the case, keep pushing to get what you are entitled to receive.

Ouch  . That is a long way in the back of the b*s.

... and *that's* not even including the SYD-CBR leg. I was absolutely shattered. NEVER AGAIN.

For Qantas. Most flights are posted soon after I am back on the ground.

Some are posted overnight, and others end up added in about 2 days.

Only one of my QF flights didn't post. Chased it up. All sorted. Believe the Check-in agent stuffed up something as my ticket was pretty much invalid after "missing" my first leg! Took many minutes at another airport to sort out my return ticket.

Other airlines... Most have posted within 3 days. Yet to have to chase anyone else up.... I'm sure after my flying later this year on a few other OW airlines that I'll have to chase up at least one.

The only times I have had problems with other airline's posting to my QF account was when my QF FF number was entered into the BA booking without the two leading zeros.

This was picked up by a BA lounge agent in SFO when I presented by BP (complete with QF FF number on it) and was shown the business class lounge. I said I would prefer to use the First Class lounge and she said I had to be travelling in First of be OneWorld Emerald to use that lounge (I was in Club World). I showed her my QF Platinum card and she noted the missing zeros and fixed it all up. All my BA flights prior to that did not auto-post, but all after that did - she updated the rest of the booking.

So I made sure my TA had my FF number on file with the leading zeros and all has been good since.

I've rarely had trouble with flights posting...usually QF have posted in my favour so I fail to remind them of their mistake  .

I had a problem on a return trip where the outbound flights appeared ok, but the flights on the return journey did not. Was fixed pretty quickly using the online reporting.

Hi, sorry for reviving such an old thread.

Just wondering how long LAN flights have taken to post to your account. I have taken several recently, and everything shows up fine on the BP (number & Ruby), but the flights haven't posted to the account.

The main reason I ask is, I should be SG now from those unposted flights, and WP in the next week. The next 3 flights are with QF, thus Status Bonus. Was wondering what happens if the QF flights post before the LA flights...do the status bonuses for the QF flights get re-calculated after the LA flights post? Or just tough luck?

Regards,
Malcolm.

cabbage, I'd be waiting a week for them to post before contacting QFF Service Centre by telephone, or using the email request through the QF website. They should post on the date the entry is created but you will see the date the flight was taken in the entry. Everything should be re-calculated on the points side (including bonuses), if it isn't then again, let them know.

I have just used the website email request form, from Jamaica, as my (upgraded) flight BNE/LAX posted as an award flight :(. Now I reminded them it was a H vclass booking, upgraded to J with points. I'm sure they'll realise their mistake when they look at it :D.

Qantas FF have become very good at correctly applying relevant status/bonus including any warranted additional points. I have a feeling they now have software which backtracks throught one's activity in these situations and either creates an alert for the operator when these situation occurs or maybe, it even posts it automatically.

I had a similar experience when a (QF) flight did not post two months ago. This MEL-PER flight would have made me WP but as it did not post, a subsequent PER-MEL flight posted only as SG with it's 50% bonus. After I made a claim and the missing flight was posted, an additional 50% bonus was also posted as a separate activity transaction for the PER-MEL flight.

For me Finnair flight AY098 SIN-BKK on 26th Dec posted after flight SIN-BNE on 5th Jan.

Some 1world carriers seem to take longer to post flights.

I flew the flight (QF3196/AY088 I think?) BKK-SIN using the Qantas code share in Sept and the points posted within 2 days.

One of my Cathay flights posted within 24 hours. Another 2 were delayed 2 and 6 days respectively.

I can only assume that other airlines send the details through in batches. The 2 delayed CX flights mentioned above posted at the same time...
