Is anyone able to tell me is there a standard amount days before a flight that American Airlines releases their frequent flyer seats.
Also is it correct that Qantas releases their FF seats 355 before the flight?
The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
AA release their own sears a year prior to departure but you can only get partner airline reward seats the 330 days prior to departure.
Also just because qantas or cathay have reward seats available it does not mean you can access these on a oneworld reward using AA points as I recently found out.
Fortunately I found dealing with AA for an award was easy.I did ring the 24 hour US number for advantage and they were obviously trying to help.I knew there were no direct bne -lax J award seats available but mentioned it anyway.Award seats for 2 people-hard at the best of times in J-were found via hkg to the usa and via nrt on the way back.I was prepared to use 150000 AA points for this but was told as my originally requested itinerary was under 20000 miles I would only be charged 130000 points. As well the taxes are only 30% of that for a similiar QF award we have this year.
