VIP treatment: Not sure if it counts but I booked the lowest room and received the highest room on top floor, also some sweets in room and the 2 bottles of wine

Located out of the city but sometimes you don’t need to be right in the heart. Great views though.

Overall opinion: This was a one night stay on Thursday. An incredible upgrade from bottom category studio to top category 1br, with an amazing view of the CBD, river and MCG. The room also had a large spa overlooking the CBD. All service interactions were excellent and the bar voucher had a decent range of options.

Property: Sofitel on Collins Melbourne

Room booked: Classic Room 1 King City View
Room upgraded/type: Classic Room 1 King City View
Rate: Members Stay Longer & Save Room Only (2nts avg $297 pn)
Free internet: Didn't check
Welcome drink: Yes, bar voucher redeemable at No35. Was in Melb for GABS so didn't need any additional alcohol, ended up redeeming voucher for takeaway coffees at The Club on day of checkout.
Early check in/late out: Yes, 10am check-in and 3pm check-out - was very happy with this
VIP treatment: Nothing
Overall opinion: Fri-Sun stay. Nothing notable except for the early check-in and late check-out which was appreciated. Hotel seemed very busy, there was a wedding on the Saturday which created quite a buzz around the lobby. Covid restrictions limit lift capacity to 4 people which causes congestion as the six lifts ferry people between Level 1 and Levels 35-50. 9am-11am and 6pm-8pm are a complete mess, at one point we waited over 10 minutes for a lift before a group suggested we just squeeze in. Request a higher floor to avoid lift issues if you are staying here. Unfortunately no pics, sorry!

We really love this resort and were lucky to get in ( early June ) before borders closed to QLD.

UPDATE, This property isnt part of the Accor family anymore

IBIS Katherine, NT is no longer an Accor property.....
Apparently renovated and renamed..... should you be headed in that direction.

It was historic wandering

Room booked: Junior Suite
Room upgraded/type: Yes/Was upgraded to the Opera Suite!
Rate: Accor Plus Red Hot Rooms
Free internet: Yes/didn’t use
Welcome drink: Yes – 4 vouchers for use at the Cuvee Bar - received 2 originally and 2 further as the room wasn't immediately available.

VIP treatment: Welcome Fruit Platter, Bottle of Sparkling and Block of 'Sofitel' Koko Black Chocolate. Access to the Club Lounge - excellent visit.

Was my first visit to this hotel and was extremely happy to be upgraded to the Opera Suite - an amazing room - the room is huge! Excellent service, Club Lounge was re-open - providing an antipasto plate and wine/spirits and beer. Breakfast buffet was excellent and we had dinner at Thyme2 using the Accor Plus 50% off benefit.

Would visit again (and keep fingers crossed for another excellent upgrade) :)

So disappointed with Café Collins and Bar closed due to Covid and lack of customers according to staff.

That's interesting. Was there in late May. Rooms could certainly have done with a renovation, especially the bathrooms. I wonder what it's like now. The pool area was nice enough for what is essentially a motel.

Any ideas why they are closed for the month of September?

This is now the Contour Hotel Katherine - CONTOUR HOTEL

Was over in Katherine during July and at the time of booking it had already closed for renovations.

I wonder what was actually renovated. The deluxe room looks the same as when I was there in May. Maybe they renovated the bathrooms (which needed it the most).

I’ve just ticked over to Accor Plat. Thank you double status promo!

I’m looking at properties on the list that offer free breakfast and I’m offered room rates both with and without breakfast. Is this common?

Can I confidently book the lowest rate displayed and get the breakfast, even though the rate breakdown says “breakfast not included”?

Nice, my first choice when staying in Cairns, ive stayed at that property close to 50 times, and never had that room. The other junior suites, have a seperate bathroom and toilet.

Have to say, as an ALL Diamond member for just over 12 months, theres no different treatment between Plat and Diamond, and certainly wont be going out of my way to retain it.
