I normally stay in TST as well. Ever noticed on the train how they never pronounce stations the way they look like they would be pronounced?

Yes - Also apparently some of the roads have a Chinese name and an English name. Some times people give you blank looks when you ask where a particular road is.

It is rare though - and I do not want to give an impression that getting around there is difficult. In fact it is quite easy.

Oh, I never had any problem getting around - as you say it is quite easy.

I have stayed at Tsim Tsa Tsuey (the tip of Kowloon close to Ferries). Easy togo to any lace - Nathan Rd, Monkk market, etc. I preferrd this to HK Island. Even if you want to o to the Islands, erry costs something lke 5HK dollars.

I believe it's $2.20 for upper deck and $1.70 for lower deck for the Tsim Sha Tsui- Central ferry.

Not really that much difference between the 2 decks in my opinion...

How I would pronounce that, and how it is pronounced on the MTR are two different things. Now I don't know if the person that recorded it was constipated or not.

Regardless, I have found it a good part of Kowloon to stay in.

Hong Kong for kids?

My family will be returning from the UK via HK, and basically want to visit Disneyland for a day and spend the other 2 doing not too much. Is it a good idea to stay near the airport or (God forbid!) in "The Magic" itself?

I am also finding it hard to find apartment-style accommodation. One of the few places to provide suites is Harbour Plaza North Point. Has anyone stayed here or know of other places that provide 2 separate sleeping areas? We are really not keen to share a cramped hotel room with Missy 4 and Master 6.

We arrive on the 25th of April and depart on the 28th so it is not urgent.

No need to stay at Disneyland. You can get there from just about anywhere in HKG via the MTR fairly quickly.

I went there in Nov 2004 when it was still a construction site. Not much magic, but there was a lot of mud. :roll:

I was there May 2004, and saw a few things they said would be where the cable cars were.

It was weird to see the place half built - the hotels were there, Space Mountain was complete, the lake with island had no water in it. And thousands of workers. I'd like to see it again now.

Oooh... that could be even more annoying that the English version! :x

Avoiding the LOTFAP is always a good thing IMO, although there is something special about the original Disneyland in California. At least if you do go there it is a direct flight.

Pity there are no direct flights from SYD or MEL to SNA!
