Hmm... I just looked at June for you and can't find the same fare. I had an I bucket fare... ILSFWTH; around that time I can only find D and C fares. The rules/routing look similar though. VN flight was codeshared, CX was not it was just straight CX. I was connecting to QF128 in F and had the poor SGN ground staff scrambling for F tags.

DLSFWTH THB16160 base. MPM is 1258 so not much to play with but still. Unlimited transfers, no HIP.

If you just want to book something simple then RJ J is ok-ish and on OW with Thai lounge access, EK obviously better and good for QF members. I just like constructing exotic routings with unusual fares.

A couple other options BKK-HKG... UL I fare is slightly less than RJ's C fare, though obviously more restricted. For something more silly try PR or MH. If you're intent on using African plating, ET actually looks better value than KQ this time.

Nevermind, just checked. It's like $600 for ET628 direct, hell no. And you people complain about QF 767 services.

Any thoughts on hotel for Saturday, 07 June? Are we doing anything for drinks/dinner?

Conrad? I can definitely say ~AUD400 is way over budget.

Too early to plan?

HotelClub has sent me a USD20 gift to be used before 31 December 2013. I will book a hotel that has Free Cancellation.
 
I will have to wait and see what city/country I am in that night. Depends on which flights are cheapest when I get around to booking.

This CX sale looks promising for me, despite what I said the other night. But too early to decide yet.

edit: CX sale fares require a minimum 3 night stay. Not really going to suit me, unless the lounge crawl in on 9 June, which would kill the recovery day.

I'm interested, just checking flights. Count me as 90% probable. I am thinking of doing a JASA to BKK or PVG first, then head over to HKG on Saturday. I have a conference in Brisbane starting on Tuesday so I just need to work out whether to come back to Sydney first on Monday or fly straight to Brisbane arriving on Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Are there any tentative plans or timings for HKG at this stage?
 
This is pretty rubbish. Showing me $477 for the return leg ADL-HKG-ADL. But when I select an outbound fare the return jumps to $496.

QF departures from HKG are:

QF128 - 2015
QF30 - 2030
QF98 - 2045

So I expect they will dictate an end time. As to a start time, whenever you get there!

At the SIN run, we had a walk around before heading to the airport about lunch time.

Thanks, that saved me looking at the current QF schedule. I'll very tentatively will book CX715 to SIN as it's a 77W but no F :( departs at 2025, arrives about midnight so good time to hit the clubs, perfect!

I am thinking of staying in KUL on the 7th/8th (with a .br fare) and commuting with CX/MH. Still investigating.

On those days only 777's and 737's are showing, hence no F. I couldn't see any A380's on 7/8/9 June KUL-HKG at all.

I was planning a trip in Feb using MH HKG-KUL but only 777 available.

I think either MH is not filling it's A380's or they are needed for another route next year, as up until now they have been daily A380 flights.

CX is showing an MH A380 codeshare on the 8th (KUL-HKG), but not bookable into F.
