Yes but you can easily get a port visa for 5 days at lohu...about 25aud and 15mins to process

QF29 MEL-HKG on Thursday 5/6
CX659 HKG-SIN at 1.30am on Monday 9/1. (Not my first choice of flights)
QF6 SIN-SYD at 10.15pm on Monday 9/1

CX659 is a killer...hope you're in J! (its often a 772 with the dreaded shell seats these days...)

Excellent. I tried to get an earlier flight out in J, but there was nothing. I am doing a JASA on the way in and I didn't want to waste points on a return flight in Y. I was going to just buy a seat in Y, but the cheapest red-e-deal for a one way ticket from HKG-SYD was $4290!!!!!!!' Ay Caramba!

Oh well, I'll just have to make sure I'm well anesthetised for the flight to SIN. At least it's in J.
 
If anyone has an Asia Miles account can you please check how much an economy and business class awards would cost for BKK-HKG-MNL and return? The plan is to fly to BKK-HKG-MNL-HKG on 07 June and return HKG-BKK late on 08 June.

I am guessing availability in either class wouldn't be an issue. The current cash price is ~THB12,000 in economy and ~THB28,000 in business so a little expensive for 2 tickets.

Returns are going for 6500HKD atm - just set your return date for up to 1 year for your next trip :)
 
I suppose I could always go HKG-MEL-SYD and game an extra 10 status credits and 1000 QFF points for my $4k flight in Y.
