Apart from airline departures, better late than never.
I would rather my flight be late than cancelled!

Anyhow, just a reminder that early check-in for most flights can only be done at the Hong Kong or Kowloon airport express stations (NOT Tsing Yi). It is possible to purchase tickets online with a credit card: https://www.paydollar.com/b2c2/AELControlServlet?action=aelshop&lang=eng&catid=10030 There's this new QR code thing for the phone, but I think it is still possible to pick up the ticket at the train station counter.

For those who are travelling in groups (or would like to organise into groups), group tickets are also available (at the counter only), and gives substantial discounts for 2, 3, or 4 pax.

Tip: If you're pre-purchasing an Airport Express ticket online rather than using an Octopus card, you can earn Asia Miles. On the flip side, you miss out on the free MTR transfer for the preceding connecting trip.

Given where I'll be, I might end up catching a bus to the airport rather than the Airport Express. Is there any way of picking up a QF boarding pass early even if I check-in online? Given that QF's check in counters don't open until T-3h I'm guessing I'd have to have a way of printing one out beforehand? I'm travelling HLO if that helps!

You can also use the free hotel shuttles with the airport express even if you're not staying at those hotels. Just turn up to any stop, and wait there.

I'm not sure if QF allows you to skip the check-in counters in HKG, but it would say so on the online boarding pass if that's the case.

If you're buying one-way airport express tickets, it's cheaper to buy via Klook.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think they have returns available as well? (Although for a same-day return, you would get the offer from the counter).

if you have an airport express ticket for the return journey you can use the in town checkin counters 24 hours beforehand

Arrive on the 11/6 on QF29 (1800 Arr)
Depart on the 13/6 on CX659 (0140 Dep)

Will be at the HR Sha Tin for the night of 11th

Im a gold at this stage as plans may still shift.

It appears I didn't update myself. Have to drop to bronze. Now departing a week later and will only do a make up lounge run on the 19th

We had a 3 hr transit in HKG yesterday. Made our way to The Pier 1st class lounge. What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. Lovely refreshing shower, leg massage and a lovely meal. The duty manager Wilson was very attentive. He was telling us he had come from the Shangri la. When leaving I made sure to thank him and complement him on the staff and food. He was genuinely pleased to hear what I had to say.

To those on the lounge crawl this lounge is far better than the Wing that we had visited the previous week. I must add that we also LOVE the Qantas lounge where we are treated extremely well.

Hope everyone on this lounge crawl has a fantastic time.

Thanks for the report. I think we should start planning out our day. :)

Start at Wing First, Cabin, Bridge, Pier First, Pier Business then back to Qantas and then gate 19 lounge.

Around 30m-45m in each lounge? I did this the other day and it is an easy walk to each lounge but no train coming back.

With the EK lounge thrown in there for those with access.

Oh, and the Wing Business just to complete the set.

One of the benefits of my family bypassing HKG. Have cancelled my Y flight and am now arriving at 12:40 in an SQ F suite :)

They'll never know....

I think we did similar 2 years ago. Perhaps go to Wing J just after F as it's next door, and we need to go downstairs anyway - I think we can still walk through from F? I won't have EK lounge access, but happy to guest one into the Premium Plaza flagship lounge nearby. It's not that special but they have made-to-order HK style fishball noodles. I can also guest one into the spa next to the SQ lounge for a 15 mins massage - I don't think there's a requirement that the guest must be travelling on the same flight?

Considering I won't have EK access either, maybe I will need some pampering to overcome the dismay. :)

Edit: As I am flying RJ I have access to the Plaza Premium as well. Actually a few of us do. ;)

I am not sure if the Wing Business is open from AFF reports but when I went to access Wing First the other day she wanted to usher me to the "Business" lounge as Oneworld Emerald was not showing on business class boarding pass.

Not sure I can access Plaza Premium flying RJ economy.

I have a priority pass, can guest someone into any relevant pp lounges...

From a quick count on post 2, I think there are 9 of us not flying on QF. Can you guest into the PP lounge when you're flying RJ J? Being able to do so and having a couple of Priority Pass, we pretty much there (for those who cannot get into EK).
