Further to the likely dinner on Saturday 9th at Tim Ho Wan. I will see how easy the one at Central (Hong Kong Station) is to find and see if we need a booking for 7pm on a Saturday. I will report back on Thursday.

Greetings all. I checked out Tim Ho Wan today at Hong Kong Station. It is easy to find as it is on the shopping level (P1) immediately below the in town check in on Ground floor. The "but" is it seats about 60 and does not take bookings. Basically all tables are for two and the more people in a group the longer it takes to get a group of tables but they are pretty efficient. Groups cannot be seated till everyone has arrived. Its very much a "get em in and get em out" place as they rely on turnover and when I was there at 1330 hrs it was very busy. The food looked great. They only take cash.

I know a much bigger place, heavily patronised by locals, that has large tables. It is 200 or 300 metres from Natham Road Entrance/Exit "C" of Yau Ma Tei MRT station. Its at 466 Nathan Road. and called Canton's Kitchen - Dim Sum Expert. Just a thought as not as convenient as Central but not far from another MRT station (Yau Ma Tei) on Kowloon side. There will be heaps of other reasonable places but its a matter of vetting them.

My flight tomorrow was just changed to an A380. Happy days!

Lost my seat selection though, so I'm quite glad I checked E/F before going to bed!

Did you get into F seats?

I'm in PE. It's a day flight so I decided to save the points. Now in 24A (PE exit row) which will be just fine.

I have an upgrade request in for the flight back though (although if I knew it'd be changed to an A380 I would have requested an upgrade as there's still F seats left!) :)

@CMA222 i am just happy to go with the flow. I think option one could see us waiting around depending on arrival times. The google will (normally) guide me to the location.

Somewhere up thread I said I would document my own personal lounge crawl on the way to AFF HKG crawl but think I went to hard to soon (SIN). Next instalment of my journey to the lounge crawl, belated. Yesterday travelled ICN to BKK via HKG with TG. The via HKG was not preferred but the availability of rewards (direct) was limited.

Takeoff (late) and after weather delays into HKG we were informed the transfer time to re-boarding was 30 minutes. I may be wrong but in my experience narrow bodies struggle to turn-a-round in 30 minutes so a 777 I consider that not possible.

We were at gate 63, went through transfer pretty quickly, and as I achieved *G in Apr I was keen to check out the UA lounge as I have not been there before but from what I have read it is a better *A lounge in HKG.

The most difficult part was getting in as the lounge guards did not understand why I had x1 BP (ICN-HKG-BKK) and a transfer card. I will also admit I wondered/ questioned why I only had 1 BP in ICN but was told it was ok, I assume this may be a TG thing. The UA lounge was quite pleasant and the food was ok when compared to other US lounges.

The PP lounge was next door but gave that a miss and also the AMEX, I will be back here in 4 days.

Next on the list TG

Didn't bother trying to get to SQ.

By the time I got into BKK I missed catching up with @Hvr and @JessicaTam, see you on Sunday. It never ceases to amaze me how a 10 minute delay at the start ends in extended delays at the other end, that is flying and I am used to it.

Tomorrow I am on the last leg of the journey BKK-HKG. I suspect I will fall back into my normal habit of finding a lounge, plonking myself there and just waiting for the flight.

My flight into HKG got cancelled, CX moved me to CX421 which gets in at 13:55. So see ya somewhere around then! Should we do a WhatsApp thread for discussing the more realtime logistics of meeting up on Sunday?

Sounds good. I'll PM you my number.

Logistics are up thread. We meet after 1300 (those coming from Macau) and up to 1400ish (those in HKG) in the CX The Wing F lounge at the Haven restaurant on L7. JohnK is arriving earlier for brunch.

Ah I missed that. Awesome thanks

@Fifa and I are booked on the 1155 ferry which should have us airside about 1330.

So try to meet in the Wing F dining area between 1400-1500hrs.

At 1500 hrs I was going to head to The Wing J, QF and The Deck lounges.

At about 1600 start heading up the concourse ticking off lounges on the way.

After we meet in The Wing F, we should stagger our lounge visits (as we stagger!) so 17 people don't arrive at each on mass. The day is long enough that we will pass everyone multiple times as we wander about.

I have added the above to the wiki.

My upgrade on QF128 has come through and I have been allocated 14A :).
Good luck to other AFFers with upgrade requests!

Looked them up on Google map, looked prominent enough plus right on Nathan road (restaurant on the ground floor) which should be easy to find. Do they take bookings?

I have not checked but I doubt it. They are a large property and there are many tables. If there is interest I can find out but firstly we need to know how many are attending.

I am so jealous reading all of this - I would have been there but........
