Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As it's my main card for business expenses (mainly travel), I should be a shoe-in to meet the $40K target every year ;)

However my daughter applied in February and was not charged the annual fee. She had phoned the call centre prior to applying and was told there was no current promo. Win for her!

Hi Fifa,

Did she get charged the annual fee in the end?

I'm thinking of risking it and applying for it :)

Thanks,
K.

Hi all,

Once approved for this credit card how long does it take for your HH membership to become gold?

Thanks,
K.

I just checked and my daughter has not been charged

Ok thanks. Has she got her free weekend night cert? Or how long did that take? Also how long did it take for her HHonors account to reflect gold status?

P.S. I just applied and got approved straight away.

Gold status showed up in the Hilton account around one month after receiving the card.
She did the $2000 spend in the first week of getting the card and after around a month called up and the free night was added.

Ok thanks. With the free night is it a code and it adds to your hilton account online or do they send a paper cert out via mail?

I used to be a ambassador for IHG and it was a leaflet for the free weekend night :)

The free weekend night is sent to you via email as a reward certificate. It doesn’t appear in your Hilton account so don’t forget to redeem it or you lose it.

You have to phone up to book and the reservation agents are able to see it in your account.

Ok great. Thanks. I need my gold Hilton ASAP so I can book the 4 nights and get 1 free.

If it starts cutting it fine, there are several offers available on line that should grant you immediate Silver status which also triggers the 1 free night after 4.

IIRC I read something recently on milelion.com. If not, loyaltylobby.com will have the goods. Bon chance.

Just done it successfully :) it was a Hilton Honors website but it’s to do with Singapore Amex ascent or something like that. It just asks you to login to your current HH account and that’s it. I logged in and check and now I’m silver. Macquarie Hilton card just approved today so hopefully good won’t be too far away but I want to book my hotels before end of April so this silver will help a lot! Thanks again.

Yes that was it. I'm Gold so I didn't bother but I did it for my dad as I'm planning a family holiday to Vietnam later in the year for the whole clan.

has anyone managed to get a 2nd free night certificate? I received 1 for renewal and another for spending $??k in 2017 even though I was an existing cardholder. I've done 12k now and still haven't received it, I guess we are not going to be lucky now and get 2 per year?

has anyone managed to get a 2nd free night certificate

yup.. and on quite low usage . although with the wow card back to .5, I am using it more atm
