Hi, just after the collective wisdom of the forum. Have flight back to Australia booked on JQ 8 business max on 30 sept, have to be back pm 2nd October in Brisbane, no ifs ands or buts. Was thinking of booking a return sin / bne flex fare for the same day (1000 cheaper than one way) and canceling either one the day. but unsure of cancelation rules of each. More importantly to be back than save a dollar, what do people think ?

Jq 7/8 seems to be very unreliable atm.

Not sure if people on that route are being offered QF in the event of disruption?

Scoot (TR) That's the way to go right now. I've already canned my JQ7 booking for next month.

scoot was 1800 non refundable. Qantas flex 2000 so have booked that. Airfares are through the roof. No show fee 300 and otherwise refundable so if jq7 on time may cancel night before as probably more comfortable he buisness and more sc

I'm wondering if you can comment on what credit card you plan on using to book the trip? The reason I ask, is some cards have trip interruption insurance so that if you are left stranded abroad, you have the potential recourse of booking another flight that day and claiming the flight back on the card's insurance policy.

Qantas titanium. Also have covermore insurance. Flights are super full, no seats on Singapore at all. Have Qantas plus Jetstar, will cancel one 12 hours out. I think if jk 7 is in the air on time should be relatively low risk. Qantas were 4 k for 2 people, ouch
