Hi
Been 2 years since i flew due to illness.

Have been looking at a return tsv-syd via bne in J for confrence.
I remember you could book J saver fares, i think they were usually an QF I class fare.
But cannot seem to find pricing as J C D fares are the only to show on expert flyer.
All flights l am looking at have heaps of availability in I class. J,D.C are also well available

Has it changed that you cannot now purchase J savers?
Or do you have to ring and especially ask QF for them.
Or maybe i'm just a dinosaur now and am past it. Duh!

any advice welcome
Cheers

What dates are you looking for?

It may be that there are currently no sales on.

thanks for reply..

Mon March 19th... QF 971 Tsv-Bne (I avail 9) - QF 541 Bne-Syd (I avail 6)... full J fare $1228
Wedn March 21st QF 562 Syd-Bne (I avail 9) - QF 978 Bne-Tsv ( I avail 8) Full J fare $1228

The QF website used to show Jsaver and Full J fares.
The Jsavers used to be more restricted than full J hence the cheaper fare.
But now seems to be no choice at all.

Maybe they are now hidden fares
If not why the availabilty in the fare bucket " I "
one would assume if not avail then " I " would show as zero

Thanks for your interest
Been ages since l did this stuff..

Oh the new site here looks great.
Much easyier to use than the old one.
Took me a while to find my way around
after 2 years seems its a whole new world in here....

Cheers

I can see what you mean. The Qantas website is only showing "D" class. I also see "I" class availability in Expert Flyer but not anywhere else - not the Qantas website, or any other online travel agent website. Not sure why Expert Flyer shows availability but I don't think those fares are actually available right now.

If the trip wasn't next month, I would say wait for a sale. But it's unlikely the fares will be reduced less than a month out. If you have any frequent flyer points you could redeem points for this booking.

I suspect that the "I" bucket on domestic is normally used only in conjunction with international "I" bookings, which are much more common.

I think you're on to something. That sounds about right. Out of interest I just had a look and it will let you book "I" class out of TSV if connecting to AKL (or anywhere else overseas).

Interestingly, a return J fare TSV-BNE-AKL on those dates is $1,413 while the return fare for TSV-BNE-SYD is $2,456.
