I know I could sit there (if I had time) but has anyone travelling in Y (hands up from the masses) ever posted a TR in the appropriate forum when down in cattle class. I will be travelling this way in August, but from what I have read generally posted at the pointy end, so would be reluctant to try my hand.

Small world, I am at Wauchope. Not sure if you are talking re a report in "real" time. I did a trip report for Sri Lanka where we flew Air Asia ( certainly qualifies as cattle class) and have posted re Aust domestic trips, internal in US and Europe when in Y. I am a keen reader of trip reports & I actually look to the info about the destinations rather than the flights getting to and from-go for it

Hi RB, won't talk about the inter town rivalry :) definitely not talking about real time and like you if I did one would be based on destinations. Glad to hear you have posted in this regard, might consider it.

A well written TR is always welcome regardless of class travelled. I look forward to reading yours.

Ex-PQQian reporting in!

Not every TR has to be about the wonders of the pointy end, as someone who's always stuck in Y I just get jealous :p I did start writing a TR about part of my CN/KR/JP trip last year but I haven't gotten around to finishing it (and probably never will at this point).

Thanks HVR, I think I will give it a go, keen DSLR photographer so that might make up for the lack of luxury description in some places. All about value rather than price.

The only time you are EX AJD if your family have left, otherwise they all graduate back to Port. As good as any other paradise to live :)

...family's still there, I go up at least 3-4 times a year, and I still have the Port News bookmarked next to the Canberra Times in my browser... yep :p

I once did one on Kuwait Airways, warts and all. Only because i struggled to find info about them beforehand and totally regretted flying with them (in fact I didn't bother using my inbound and booked Qatar Airways back from Asia to Europe).

I've written numerous trip reports over the years and most of my travel has been in Y. I don't think the class of travel you are writing about makes the trip report any more or less valuable. I think that all trip reports are a welcome addition to the site.

I plan on doing one from Y in a few months, 2 months in Europe, and main mode of transport will be a bus once there most of my accom will be hostels and cheap hotels (except the absolute score i got in london). I love photography, and from what i have gathered I am a bit younger then some of the others on this forum, So I will try to capture more things that is relevant to the younger people. Some clubbing scenes etc, but also the token lounge and plane pics. I am travelling by myself when not on a tour, so it will be good to share things with others, and fill in some time while in transit. Plus its a fun way to give back and possibly help others out with ideas of things to do.

I got through about half of one on a MEL-USA-HRB trip in Y on UA and US (+HO for PVG-HRB) but gave up half way through due to laziness. Most of my flights are basically HRB-PEK-SIN-MEL in Y on SQ (+ whichever PRC domestic carrier is cheapest for HRB-PEK) so I don't bother because I think most people have seen and flown SQ Y from Australia to SIN and know the score. Plus, beyond Spring Airlines, all domestic PRC airlines are pretty much the same so there's nothing much to learn.

That said, I'll be doing a trip from Harbin to Seattle return in September in J (points!) with five different airlines plus a train leg, so I might do a report about that.

Writing a Trip Report (or Hotel Review) is better than not writing one ;) I know the time and effort to write one of these reports up so I give brownie points to anyone who gives writing one a go and then sharing it with this community - more points. It doesn't matter where you go, what you did or in which coughpy airline (or not) that you flew in. Sometimes writing one is about your experience, in your own words, and for something you could always reminisce about.
