Platinum
Hi People
Ok here’s the question. At the end of this trip I will have 1395 SCs.. 5 short of platinum!

I head off on a RTW on 9 Dec. is it worthwhile to spend $280 for a bne> Rockhampton return to get 20SCs??
ie will platinum make a difference compared to gold. Obviously I would go play after my first flight on the RTW but might take a while to kick in.

Advice please!!!

Go for it! There may even be a cheaper way to get the extra 5 SC.

You'll get extra points, more lounge options. Express passes through immigration in certain ports.

And next membership year you'll only need 1200 SCs to requalify for WP.

Just picked up my bonus recently so no more there. I thought I would be 30 short but picked up 25 when QF moved me from syd>pek to bne>hkg>pek the other day. The last leg with KA so waiting on their SCs. If QF did the same for my return it would be sweet but I doubt it!!

Surely JQ from BNE to.. anywhere.. with an appropriate bundle would be cheaper?

Anyway just do it yes.. it's a no brainer being so close.

Plat is worth it specially if going on a RTW to access F lounges, prioritty check in and bag allowance etc.

If WP didn’t get access to better lounges than SG I doubt I would have bothered to go for WP. Once you’ve tasted WP you won’t want to go back to SG.

Advice please!!!

Without a doubt, yes!

Surely JQ from BNE to.. anywhere.. with an appropriate bundle would be cheaper?

I would advise against this. Members are waiting up to and sometimes over a month for JQ to credit SC's (was even featured in the gazette this morning) and gambling that they'll credit quicker is just silly here.
