Many of our neighbours are getting lifts installed in their homes

Luckily my house is all single storey.
Eventually have to make the bathroom an "accessible one"

Many of our neighbours are getting lifts installed in their homes as they get older and less mobile. We had a group visit us and most of them have placed lift orders now for their two and three level homes. It means that they can live longer at their homes.

I know someone who fell down the partially built lift well in their home in the middle of the night. Almost killed them.

Recently found out that a friend from RAAF Pilots Course dies recently. Cause was Lung Cancer even though he was never a smoker.

I never smoked but would come home from being out to dinner and my hair stank of smoke. Clothes, everything.

Funnily enough we are renting in a townhouse and there's a gap of about a metre between our front verandah where we eat dinner, and the neighbours who are also renting. Started to eat then smelled smoke. There was neighbour basically leaning over his balcony into that space with smoke directly to me. I got up, smiled and said to please move away from where we are eating. I know that no one wants renters smoking but think they have to allow it on balconies? Anyways I trust he won't do that again so close but have no issues telling him and if he continues then I'll report it. He can smoke on his area but not near us. But our side has the sea view. Actually I think as tenants we have more rights than owners!

I don't know about SA but in NSW balconies are still considered common property. Our Strata has a by-law which says no smoking on common property, you can be fined for smoking on the balconies.

Often when leaving the complex I see smoking renters just outside the gate on the street having their pathetic puff.

That's true here in SA too. Never thought of it like that (for our property that we rent out). Thats rather interesting.

Where we are now, there is only the one owner. Apparently he has something like 60 properties all around Adelaide. He owns the company that manages the rentals. There is a dedicated maintenance and repair company just for his properties.
