Darwinism at work at those rallies in the US, pity about the kids though, they don't deserve it. Confederate flags waving in Michigan (which borders Canada). Trump tweeting "Liberate Michigan" like that isn't incitement to violence and treason. Somehow he keeps digging at the bottom of the barrel to go lower every day.

Is this the one time herd immunity might be appropriate/helpful ;)

I still haven't been able to buy toilet paper and I'm down to the last roll but luckily friend in business said I can raid their stash (as they order in bulk) but its getting ridiculous and I don't want have to keep going out to different shops just to try and find toilet paper. I'm going to look at buying online tomorrow

It might be helpful for the rest of the world if America takes a hit for the rest of us but it won't be helpful for the US themselves.

Sorry my twisted sense of humour. Need to draw a line from protesters not distancing - not showing a lot of intelligence - higher probability of contracting - gun toting conspiracy theorists - voted for Trump. Along the lines of Darwinian principles (reduction in less able/suitable of the species)

Asymptomatic cases are being discussed in the LA Times this morning. Stanford University researchers believe the number of COVID-19 cases could me many times greater around San Francisco.

Strangely enough, when I saw the clip on BBC News the other day I asked Mrs FB the same. Why don't they have to social distance?

I’ve been saying that ever since that started!

I said as much yesterday.

I think SA are being dudded. Kimberley in SA is sending theirs interstate and not local. Won’t buy their product again.

Apparently if you go to a Drakes/Foodland and ask for some then likely they have it out back. They just don’t put it out as it goes.

Some more articles with info on research of Covid 19.

And now some articles on North America.
No wonder the US has problems.

Air travel down.

A medico's perspective on NYC.

And Canada's response to air travel.

And Canada's response to air travel.

What do you think of the Canadian policy, drron? I see its essentially just a 'face covering', not a surgical mask, to trap egregious droplets exhaled. Seems a useful policy to me. Not designed, I think as a "wall" against spread, but a simple way to mitigate some risk?

Basically I think the push for this has come from airport staff.
Now the proper way for this is that those who are symptomatic should wear masks-as in many Asian countries- but that is even less likely than co operating with home isolation.
It does no real harm apart from giving a false sense of security.

My fear is that the CV will bounce back and forth across the US prolonging international outbreaks, holding up travel in general and making travel to the USA out of the question.
I think its much broader than that. It’s taken time to reach other countries, but is rising and will be virtually uncontrollable in maybe 100 of the 185 countries admitting to cases, maybe more, including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, with the mother of all disasters brewing in India:(. Huge populations with doubtful to rubbish stats. I suspect travel anywhere, with possibly limited exceptions, will be out of the question for a considerable time.

And in India as elsewhere, the fear and misinformation is everywhere. This was from the Times of India no less.
Coronavirus man-made in Wuhan lab: Nobel laureate

Interviewed on a French news channel, the co-discoverer of the Aids virus ... alleged the “presence of elements of HIV and germ of malaria in the genome of coronavirus is highly suspect and the characteristics of the virus could not have arisen naturally“.

Just like the TSA, then - theatre security.

Excited to see two different brands of loo paper at Coles yesterday - some Sorbent or Kleenex as well as Quilton. And many different shapes of pasta, not just Coles brand lasagne sheets. Rice was still low, and no eggs at all (hard to incentivise chooks to lay more :p)

Capsicums down to a decent price per kg after a surge a few weeks ago (got up to $12.90/kg, now back to $6-7.90).

W.A. had its first day without a new Covid-19 infection since March 12. (S.A. and Queensland also recorded no new infections.) In W.A. 27 people are in hospital with 6 in ICU.

And the drinkers will be happy as the limits on purchases of take-away alcohol have been removed here.
