I think that most posters on the discussion have come to the conclusion that the meet and greet FA has already taken into account that there would be no effect on the amenity and enjoyment of other passengers, if there was, the offer would not be made, for example, if F pax objected to a glass of wine leaving the F cabin to someone in Y that has done 200K miles a year with QF/AA/BA then that is OK with me, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but apparently, they don't care at the moment seeing the odd glass of wine leaving the F cabin.
IMHO I would stick to my F seat any hour of any day rather than join the upstairs J "lounge". I literally only sat on the bench once and I found it uncomfortble and that whole area just a little tight, space wise. i suppose this is to be expected. As regards the odd glass of wine leaving the F cabin. I am not sure anyone would notice and even if they did I suspect that the occupants of that cabin would simply say good luck to the receiptient!
how would the meet and greet FA know, at anytime until around and hour or so before landing, that they weren't going to run out of x/y/z? business pax care about it when they are later told the item they want is no longer available because it has run out. You ask for a champagne breakfast to be told 'I'm sorry it's all gone'... even if Y passenger in business class lounge has just one glass, that could be the difference between another pax being told they can or cant have their champagne breakfast.
200k a year in economy? that's 5 or so return trips to europe from australia... (assuming bonuses) and possible LESS than the cost of a SINGLE premium class ticket. why not improve the economy product rather than have to give out sweeteners from business or first?
