what was your calcium score was it medicare re-bate-able?o_O

Can only hope that the technology continues to improve beyond the current stop-and-stand scanners.

Last time I went through one it detected something on my (uncovered) neck. Security were obliged to ask "Are you wearing a necklace or something?" Very hard to fight the urge to eye roll ...

Fair point.

I'd probably support it if it would have a meaningful impact on queues (but it probably wouldn't). Indifferent otherwise.

People might start liking landside lounges if it happens :)

I had that in the USA of no joke but right in the middle of my crotch thee was an area of great interest. ........The opposite gender were very very interested what sort of package I had........should have taken a private room,

I could have sworn I have heard this is done deliberately to ensure that the staff are kept on their toes.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Sorry, am I missing something here, what about showing ID when boarding? I seem to do it at every other airport outside of AU when flying internally.
AU must be the easiest country to travel in without ID.

I've shown ID when checking in when in other countries but never on boarding when travelling domestically. The TSA experience in the US is just horrendous and people advocating for it here should be forced to use it rather than having a fast lane to avoid the harassment.

Unless you do the TSA fast track where one is already vetted and shoes stay on and computer in bags.

Last time I was in the US I got TSA PreCheck for my internal flights. Very nice thank you. And I was very glad to bypass the huge queues.

ID has nothing to do with security. There is absolutely no security reason to check ID. The only reason airlines check ID is for revenue protection.

Does every worker and contractor air-side at Australian airports get a full body scan every shift? And will they have liquid restrictions the same as the passengers? If not, it makes a joke of all passenger security checks. It would be so easy to pass something over air-side or place into a hold. Although I happily do whatever checks are required - and they vary so much around the world - I do believe a lot of the security is to reassure passengers that something is being done.

Yes. Ramp staff a little bit different out of necessity, but still checked.

Interesting. At MAN this morning, I forgot to remove my belt so was sent for full body scan. The FBS detected many hot spots requiring a manual pat down. When I looked at the screen there were hotspots under my arms and on the face. Given I’d just pushed a loaded trolley cart for 15 minutes to check in I was sweating quite heavily. Gunna be fun in Australia if they use the same scanners and same sensitivity.

Alarming on sweat has been a known problem with these things since long before they were rolled out to begin with.

I sweat profusely.Certainly shows up but has not slowed the process appreciably-ie they can see why the appearance on the scan. Some times a very quick pat down.

Still gets me that they put all this high tech equipment in major city airports but if you fly in from within Australian whoop whoop airport your in the gate area without any of the security scans!

If they introduce a liquids ban for domestic they should mandate airports make bottled water available at supermarket prices on the other side. Airports and airport concessions should be allowed to profit from essential requirements.

Thats not correct, if you fly in from a non security protocol regional airport, for example some Rex ports, or coming off a mine site charter (some Alliance or Skippers flights) without security you always end up outside the sterile area either via bus or one way gate or both.

Whats your definition of Whoop woop?

^I hope I'm longer correct but I have read many a story(I think they were reported in AFF) that regional did not have the security of City airports and unaware they have been patched.
No I don't mean mining places..... More remote.
I only see Rex coming into major airport gates that are already behind security.....
