@QF WP all this not travelling has been saving us one heap or two.
Our sons are back flying but we are going to wait for our shots i think.
@Myrna we know London is really getting shots done. The UK seems to be way ahead of most of Europe.
Israel has done a big job on vaccinations based on the video call we had with a supplier last week. All of their company staff have had their shots.
One case in Brisbane and one in Sydney is nothing like most of the rest of the world.
i think we will book New Year’s Eve in Sydney this year.

News here said the UK has got more vaccine supplies so we keep our fingers crossed that we may get our 2nd dose earlier than 12 weeks delay for Pfizer. Apparently in Canada it is 16 weeks between doses for Pfizer.
New cases in the UK are coming down but still over 4,500 daily :(
We keep fingers and toes crossed tightly for coming home before New Year's Eve :) News about Singapore becoming a bubble with Australia is encouraging.

But the UK deaths and hospitalisations are coming down significantly.
Maybe the reason for the slower drop in cases is because testing has gone through the roof up 73% week on week so more asymptomatic cases being picked up which is just as the UK results after one vaccine shot are suggesting. That is virtually elimination of severe cases and dramatic drops in hospitalisation.

And testing of kids multiple times a week now. Since last week.

Anyone else ? I still have some online chats however have not met anyone in person.
Perhaps if travel happens for me next year a lounge meet up
Of course if the lounges open lol
Though sadly I suspect I shall be a soft landing to gold

I regularly communicate with a couple of AFFers and will be having dinner with one tomorrow and spending all of Monday together assuming his trip to ADL still goes ahead.

We live around the corner from kpc - but I only saw them once (since out of prison hotel three months ago) standing outside our front fence when they walked past our house - for exercise. However, we have kept in touch via whatsapp :)

Our house used to be the renovated one with 2 'old unrenovated' ugly ducklings on either side. Ten years later, the 2 ugly duckings have turned into swans! Now, our house has become the ugly duckling :) The big house (with pool and tennis court) three doors down is now being renovated - looked like a huge job. Not sure who are going to live there - whether the parents, or their eldest son. When we moved into the street, the son was just a 'wee' kid who always said 'hello' when I was out in the front garden. Now he is married with 5 kids!
The 3 houses under reno - you saw today - have been unrenovated for years until the oldies (we remember them) lived there passed away and young families bought in.

I think all of us in Canberra will head to the Kingo as soon as we can - @get me outta here ?
Or maybe we organise a a number of adjoining picnics in the early evening somewhere. And, then there is the replacement for the AFF Event on 23 Oct, and so on.

Vinomofo is the best wine deals site on the planet. Good wines, real people and epic deals, without all the bowties and bs.

Thank you @kookaburra75 - I will keep an eye out for any announcements. Should I look at the this thread or, will a new thread be started when something is concrete?

Hi @Ade, I will organise a meet up at The Kingo as soon as we can. I’ll post it in the meetings thread as @Mattg said and hope to catch up with you and all others wishing to join us.
