Is there any value in having a FAQ section. It might help a lot of new members to have a reference point. It is something I would have found very useful. This Post by serfty brought it to the front of my mind again. What a great post, concise, and answers what I'm sure must be a regularly asked.

It might also help regular members who can point newcomers to the FAQ with a link rather than do all the work again. :D

Yes absolutely, the same questions get asked over and over. I think the search engine is a bit average too so yes again.

Yes, we currently have a lot of stickies at the top of each forum but an overall FAQ would really help first-timers to the site navigate their way around and get the info they want.

Not against the idea but do people really think an FAQ would help? How many times do you go to a new website and consult the FAQ? The only times I consult the FAQ is when I am stuck.

I'll actually scan through a FAQ initially as it tends to make a new board/site easier to navigate from the get go, rather than abandoning completely after reading for a bit because it all "seems too confusing".
