In 2002 the NSW Law Society offered me a Master/Amex credit card through Westpac. This card had no fees and free membership to QFF. After a while I realised that I'd be better off with a card which (over time) morphed into the (now old) Earth Black. I kept the original card for free membership to QFF and accumulated points on the Earth Black. Before Christmas I got a letter saying that the Law Society and Westpac were severing this relationship. I was lost my "old card". I was told that I'd be offered a new card with all the old conditions. I contacted both Westpac and QFF. Westpac said "all the same conditions" did not include membership to QFF. QFF said said things would remain the same. I wouldn't have to pay for my membership to QFF. Does this sound right? I still appear to be getting my points credited to my account. I have NEVER had to pay over any money for being a member of QFF. Am I in for a BIG surprise?

If one has been unlucky enough to pay for a QFF membership, it is a once-off fee only.

If you are already a QFF member, there is nothing more to pay.

The Qantas Frequent Flyer program (QFF) only has a joining fee. There are no ongoing fees (anymore, or at the moment!)

Your membership of QFF will remain valid, and all you need to do is make sure any new Credit Card pays points to the existing QFF account. There is no ongoing fee for QFF after joining, although there are plenty of ways to join for free.
