I just did a new membership, as my current membership was silver, so this ended up better

As a side note, I was rather annoyed at A Club after a recent stay in HK that I actually booked on expedia... they refused to give me any points for the booking, as it wasn't booked through them, but I had booked other accor hotels on the same trip through expedia and they had no problems with giving points.

Got a free Gold upgrade through and tested it out last weekend at Ibis Townsville - the booking was through Blue Holidays so wasn't expecting to receive any points (Res Mgr specifically stated booking was ineligible)...lo and behold today I received 409 points for 2 nights stayed at $75/night. Also received email stating card is on it's way.
