even a City of Sydney Food Trucks app.

If City of Sydney was generous in providing permits you'll find more of these food trucks, during the day when there is likely to be better business for operators.

Of the couple I have tried in Melbourne, Beatbox Kitchen and Gumbo Kitchen are pretty good.

A few in ADL during the warmer (hotter?) months. Only tried a Mexican at the Wine and Wheels Epiqure event and was very impressed.

Another vote for Beatbox Kitchen here. I only have had Mr Burger once and I think they were having an off day when I ordered from them. I like Gumbo Kitchen as well but having been to the US I prefer what I get there. But it's nice to have that option. Likewise, with Taco Truck. I will put it this way - Beatbox Kitchen is probably the only one I seek out and crave!

I can't believe I have only gone to one food truck in the US. I definitely recommend it if you are in LA - Ricky's Fish Tacos. He also sells shrimp tacos. Soooo good!

Creole/Cajun food will always be better from the source, but as an option here, it's quite good. :)

Yes you are right and I do rate it. I like the Shrimp Po'boy there. :) But I find it difficult to eat - too much bread!

Now I just need someone to open a Texas BBQ truck and I'll be fatter and happier.

Another vote for Beatbox Kitchen - the Gentleman and I love it. Looking forward to trying their Chilly Billy burger.

Awesome, thanks TomVexille!

LadyC, I tried the Chilly Billy and I still prefer the Raph. It is still tasty but the Raph has a certain umami taste that has me addicted. So yes, no surprises what I had for lunch today!

BTW, Raph Rashid, the owner of Beatbox Kitchen, Taco Truck & All Day Donuts, has a cookbook, called, Hungry For That, coming out next month. Here's the description:

Off the back of his famous food trucks - The Beatbox Kitchen and the Taco Truck - Raph Rashid has taken his passion for creating the perfect burger and taco to the next level. Celebrating his unique brand of Melbourne/Californian cooking, Hungry for That's recipes are a mashup of punchy flavours and fresh combinations with a hint of urban attitude thrown in for good measure. Raph's first publication walks you through the basics, from acheiving the perfect bread roll and corn tortillas, to creating the freshest salsas and sauces, and everything in between. Chow down on a Jalapeno cheese melt or Buratta with baby beets, covet the Pastrami hash browns and melt-in-your-mouth goat ribs, or master Raspberry cream donuts and banoffe ginger snap ice-cream cones. With a killer design and edgy photography, this book will bring the hipster party to your kitchen.

You can get it on Booktopia, so you can get points via the Qantas online mall, Virgin Velocity eStore and Krisflyer Spree. Take your pick!
