Flying on your birthday?

I flew MH from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur a few years ago on my birthday, and was cheeky enough to mention it at check in but received nothing. No status though either. I will be landing on my birthday next year but doubt I will receive anything then either.

Flew QF ADL-SYD as WP a couple years ago on my birthday. Booked on a Red eDeal fare on Sunday flight - greeted with 1A at check-in kiosk :) My partner was on a different PNR, but lounge angel was able to have us seated together.

Flying SYD-HKG this year on my birthday. Here's hoping....

I'm honestly surprised how many times a year its my birthday/anniversary/honeymoon...

One day I know my patience will be rewarded.

I had 2 flights on my birthday this year - one international, one domestic - no one noticed... not even me!

Was supposed to travel on my birthday - returning from overseas but due to weather was delayed, but put up in a nice hotel. Had nothing to do with the birthday though.

I'll be missing my birthday this year thanks to flights and the international date line. Leave LAX on QF12 the night before, arrive in SYD the day after. I think that means I don't get a year older, right? At least I'll have the champagne in the OW FLounge at TBIT rather than the bubbly stuff I hate in the T4 Flounge. :D

I reckon so! I friend of mine was born 29th Feb, he says he's only 8 years old :)

I once flew LHR-KUL on my birthday, but I was greeted with big men with big guns at arrival, not cake  But that's a story for another day.

CX is reportedly generous to its own elites on their birthdays with decent regularity.

I stopped having birthdays some 19 years ago, so I've definitely had no special treatment. ;)

I am flying Cathay in J tonight & it happens to be my birthday, I rang the bank this morning, they noticed it and I rang telstra and the girl in the indian call centre even wished me happy birthday! So I wonder if they will.

In the good old days (15-20 years ago), when United was United, I received quite a few benefits on my birthday, including bottles of Veuve and other fine wines to name but a few. High value passengers were treated with respect in those days. I have travelled over 2.5 million paid miles with United, so that should count for something.

On one occasion, my son and I were upgraded from Y to F (not C) on a SYD-LAX flight. The Johnny Walker Blue Label was very nice, but I couldn't finish the bottle! Wouldn't happen now.

Happy birthday cfc4ever. Two years ago we flew Air Pacific Nadi to LAX on my sons 18th birthday. Pilot made suitably embarrassing announcement on decent to LAX. He then got to go to Disneyland on his 18th, and got the happy birthday badge from guest relations, and proudly wore it around all day.

A few weeks back I was flying QF from ADL-BNE. When I got on board, someone was sitting in my seat (4D) but when I questioned him he realised he was supposed to be in 4C. Anyway, I said don't worry, I'll just sit in 4C. And so glad I did. I ended up with a shadow in 4B (while he had someone in 4E) and just before descent the CSM came up and wished me a very happy birthday!! Turned into a bit of a joke - considering I got the birthday shadow next to me!!

Are you saying you wouldn't now be upgraded from Y to F or that you wouldn't not empty the Johnny Walker Blue Label?

I have flown on my birthday a few times. No special treatment, no recognition or upgrade.

I do seem to recall a member getting "Happy Birthday" printed on their BP in the past.

I don't think I've ever actually flown on my birthday. I have on the day before and the day after though.

No upgrades possible on my next birthday

That was me :) No Upgrade though :(

Flew on Virgin Coast to Coast service SYD-PER on a daytrip the day before my birthday and the cabin crew surprised me about an hour out of Sydney with this:

Also celebrated my 25th birthday in 1A on BA flying between LHR and EWR with a nice long visit to the Concorde Room, but no special treatment on that day.
