We are heading off on our first First Class trip to London tomorrow on BA10. This flight goes via Bangkok. Does anyone know if there is actually a First Class lounge at BKK airport or is it just the regular Qantas Club lounge? The Qantas website is a little vague about it.

It is a combined QF/BA Lounge.

It is fairly small but the showers are decent and they keep replenishing the food regularly.

I would put it on par with the DOM J lounge, however there is/was Moet available at the bar.

It can get a bit busy and I've walked over to the J lounge for a bit more personal space.

There are far worse places to wait for a flight in BKK though.

F lounge on the left hand side J lounge on the right hand side. F lounge pretty small but less crowded.

I have not been in the J lounge, but found the F lounge very crowded.

On a couple of visits as SG I had to go out of the lounge as there was no place to sit (also had to go and buy my own food as well (which I still do as I now very much like the Pad Thai from the 4th floor :D), also when a bit late getting there the queue for the showers was so long I didn't get an opportunity to shower. As WP in the F lounge never had an issue to get a seat or shower.

Tangent - Hope that you get the New BA F product!

I would like to give that a go some day.

I remember reading somewhere that at the moment only BA15/16 have the refurbed aircraft and not on all days

Regarding the new BA first class fit out. I have been keeping an eye on this site to see when one comes to Sydney so I know if it will be a new or old fit out. Looking at the recent stats, there is about a 30% chance of getting a new fit out. It does look nice! Oh... and we got seats 1A and 1K on the 747. That will be a really cool experience! I'm convinced they will take one look at me when I board and assume I have taken the wrong turn.

Best of luck with New BA First.

Let us know how your luck turns out!

HA! After tracking the BA 747s with the new fit out for the past few months, the website BKK flights by British Airways - FT Dashboard has just been updated a short while ago. It shows every 747 registration used for BA9 and BA10 for the past few months. But for the one instance which will be our plane, the site lists the plane rego as "unknown". See BA9 on the 14/12... that will become BA10 on the 17/12.

I hope something turns up at our gate.

F lounge on the left hand side J lounge on the right hand side.

That depends on which side you are coming from.... for me it was the opposite.

They both have different opening hours, but will be open when you are there.

That they do. I found it very odd when I got to the J lounge to see people lining up to get into the F lounge as it was locked.

to the OP, enjoy BA F old or new.

Really? Let me think as it has been a couple of months but the only way I have ever gotten to the lounges when transiting in BKK is getting off the plane walk down the corridor, take the little security on the right hand side, up the escalators and from there it is on the left hand side. Did you go to the gate are first and then backtracked?

I have done it both ways.

If you are coming from the gate lounge then F on Right and J on left.

If coming from terminal proper (down concourse G from D/E/F/G nexus) then F on Left (Just past CX lounge) and J on right.

I transited on BA10, left the aircraft at the gate, walked to the lounge (not sure which direction) and the J lounge was on the left (as per serfty's explanation). But it seems we are in agreeance now?

We flew on the 14th and got OF cabin.......hard product looking very tired but the CC are/were fantastic.

BTW, the F lounge is on the LH side.

I ended up getting the new fit out on the way to LHR. We were allocated seats 1A and 1K. The flight attendant tells me that these seats are reserved for royalty when they fly.

The trip was really nice! My travelling buddy talked me in to getting in to the PJs before we took off. What I didn't realise was that the toilets where you get changed are on the economy side of the entry door to the plane, so I had to squeeze past the entering passengers in my BA PJs with all my clothes in my arms. I thought it was pretty funny that I would end up down there. And of course my mate was chuckling at me when I got back to my seat.

The BA first cabin on the 747 is pretty small. It would be nice to try on one of the wider bodied planes.

Got a little lost trying to find the first lounge at BKK. But eventually found it and there only a few people there. So no problem getting a shower etc.

Mmmmmmm..... Interesting......... I ALWAYS sit in 1A in F. I guess that makes me a "Queen"
