Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

When I started explaining to friends how I have been able to get 2 business return flights to Mumbai with Singapore airlines, through Velocity points accumulated with Flybuys, bonuses with Coles insurance policies, and David Jones Amex card (get more points from Coles shopping), it all became very clear - play the customer loyalty game and it pays benefits.

Just think how far being disloyal would have gotten you :)

I received another email for 1,000 bonus points for $70 spend from Saturday-Tuesday.

I guess that is on top of the 3 week offer.

Damm current offer of the MCs 10,000 points max, which means only 10 cards. Still better than nothing I guess!

Didn't receive :(

Didn't receive :(

Have you checked your Flybuys account? I haven't received an email about the Mastercard offer yet, but checked my account and it's there - I find I often don't receive emails for new offers until late afternoon/evening.

No luck :(

Bummer.

I usually won't go for these sorts of offers anyway unless they're offering 2000 points, seeing as there's the $5 card purchase fee - the 1000 points cancels that out, but then I'm no further ahead so to me there's not really much point (unless there's something I'm missing!) as the card purchase doesn't count towards any spend targets nor do you get regular Flybuys points for the transaction.

You can purchase the Coles Gift Mastercards with an Amex card then use these to pay bills such as the ATO with a small surcharge but more importantly earn points for that ATO spend which is getting harder to earn with standard credit cards.

There's a huge thread on ATO spend that discusses the various ways to maximise points earn.

I haven't received this promotion and from memory the Coles downstairs doesn't have these gift Mastercards in sale anyway.

Yes, I've seen that in the ATO spend thread, but I rarely ever have an ATO bill anyway, only a (VERY) small refund each year so not a consideration for me but certainly an option for those who need a workaround.

Our local Coles sometimes has the gift Mastercards but not always, and when they do, there's never many of them on the display stand.

I received this email. Checked my local Coles they only had the new labeled $50 cards, but did have some of the older labelled $100 cards which expire in June this year. Would they work for the offer?

Found lots of $100 CGMC in my Local Champion store. Happy days...until they spring a $400 per day 'store policy' on me. So a few more visits before they are snaffled up

Csnt seem to justify buying these since i dont have ato spend and cant use discounted gift cards to buy

Worth it if you have a supermarket bonus card like the Edge or value VF points at more than 1c.. if you have the targetted offer of course
