I'm looking to fly Qantas business class BNE-XIY RT in March/April 2017 which comes to $4,600 on the Qantas website. However, I've chanced upon a the same flights for $4,230 on Fly365.com via Skyscanner. Obviously this is a substantial saving, BUT ... is this a reputable company? From the scant info I can find online it seems to be and seems to be Australian based which is handy in terms of consumer watchdogs. I want to make sure I still earn the same SC's on this trip as it's what I need to become WP.

Thanks for any advice!

I'm not finding any alerts.. the Google references I found were to an Australian based company, so maybe they have a presence in a few countries.

as as long as this is a paid ticket you will earn points, you can always call them and ask. I don't think this is cheap enough to be one of those miles scams.

friend of mine had a similar saving (another company) via skyscanner... but the OTA charged the full credit card fee (rather than being capped back before the changes) and so the final price ended up pretty much same same.

Yeah thanks for this, it's what I was thinking too. Clicked through on the website and, indeed, there is a full credit card fee taking the price to ca. $4,300. Still a $300 dollar saving. It seems the same flights, even the MU leg has a QF flight number, same as on the Qantas site.

I do wonder, though, how they can get a cheaper price than the airline itself ...

commission! they take a little less and pass on the savings to you. or they may have negotiated a special deal... but that doesn't seem as likely in this case as maybe someone like STA or fright centre.

if you can find the price on an Australian website... which 365 seems to have (if I found the right one)... qantas will match that for you. but you gotta be careful with the eligibility criteria.

Have just googled Qantas price promise and there's one criterion that may exclude my claim "Itineraries which contain non-Qantas flight numbers"

It's that pesky KA flight on the return leg. Too bad ...

Try it and let us know. I've had similar situations with Zujo etc before, on the same flights. I wonder if they have access to "Prepurchased" style seats at a slight discount or something. But probably legit as the discrepancy is relatively small (<10%) and not worryingly large

Why don't you just use the fly365 fare to get a price match from someone else like flight centre. They will beat it by $1 and if you sweat talk them perhaps also waive the credit card fees.

Risk of unknown averted. No need to go through price match with qf and you can see an actual person

Great idea. I'm going to try and keep you posted.

FB messaged Qantas but they say they don't price match third party sites. Oh well.

While in no way an endorsement, we've found that Flight Centre will match prices from online sites such as Wotif etc. Maybe worth giving them a try rather than gamble on unknown maybe overseas controlled web sites?

Thanks for those people who suggested the Flight Centre. They have agreed to price match flight365.com. Result!

However, my particular consultant hasn't given a very useful answer as to what the fare class. I assume it's Business Sale but she says its "Discount Business." I've asked for more details but there are, so far, none forthcoming.

From what I understand, any paid Business class fare on QF does accrue points and SC's ... am I right? It certainly isn't worth saving $300 to not accrue anything (and this is the flight that'll take me to WP!)

I'm sure QF say (or maybe that was some long ago promotion) they their own web site fares are the cheapest.....

Matt

I've booked business fares with flight centre. It got points. If you ask them to email you the sample itinerary for review it should have the booking class and the qf pnr to add your qff no all before you paid. That's my experience anyway.

Yeah, she says I'll earn the same points as if I had bought from Qantas direct. Just would like to see the sample but guess she won't send it cos she's price beating.

As we mentioned early in the thread, this fare will earn you points. You're good to go.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

That's what the FC TA I'm chatting with atm said as well. FF points are awarded by the airline and they decide which class is eligible and which class is not. The way I interpreted that sentence is if you do book with FC and not get any points with your airline of choice, then it's not their fault...

Regardless, she should send you a quote otherwise how are you to know whether she's successfully price beating or not?

What's their price promise supposed to be for, then?!
