Hmm - it's happened again.

[discretion better part of valour]

Call me chicken but I guess you can't be too careful...

EDIT

Guess the luggage is bad karma whatever else might happen

If it has happened, I would just keep quiet about it and avoid making it public on a forum :) ... Even though the latter has been missed, I would just keep quiet and hope nothing happens

Let’s hope that it was a regular automated system audit, which found you out. (Lucky you! :p )

As (if there are any) lurkers would be well aware that privacy laws in Australia are tough, and I assume access to personal data in the QFF database, is protected not just by them, but also by a vigilant QAN management - who believe in protecting one of Australia’s biggest reposits of private information!

Gah - points have posted for LHR-DXB to QF account even though BP has AA number, on screen at check in it had my AA number and the AA logo. Let's hope they post to both accounts again - but I just want them in AA ASAP so I can get EXP and potentially use an eVIP to UG JFK-NRT.

I am never using my QF number again in a booking - this is really annoying :(

Even the QF website has my AA number listed:

Name Frequent Flyer No.
simongr AA xx_xx_
Seat Preference: 2K / 2C / 2D / 10B / 10B / 1D

Although - I note that the number is actually wrong :(

I am confused. How are you able to specify that much detail in the seat preference? I must check as I thought it only allowed simple requests like forward aisle, rear window, wing smoking....

Not sure - those are the seats that I have had on previous flights and some for upcoming flights - so not so much a preference as a seat request.

Thesedays oneworld Sapphires (along with emeralds) can generally pre-select seats on booking and do not have to wait until OLCI opens.

You Find the BA amadeus reference and use MMB on BA.com.

I'm curious about how the system has ended up with both number? Did you book it with your QF number then call up and ask them to change it to your AA numbers?

I think the QF number got in there because of my F upgrade request.

I have just seen that my DXB-LHR flight has posted to AA whereas the LHR-DXB flight posted to QF

I might need to give AA a call whilst I am in the US to sort it out. I dont think I will wait the 15 days required now that I know it wont post to AA. I will then call QF to get it removed.

I cant afford to miss any points if I want to make sure I get my J award next year.

No sign of Finnair flights but I have put in the credit request.

I have rechecked the number on my BP this morning and it is definitely AA ;)

As it has already posted to your QF account, I think it may take you quite some time and lots of effort to get it into your AA account - even though the AA number is on the boarding pass. They will still contact the operating airline and they are going to reply that they have already paid the points to QF.

u may find the miles appear in your AA account in 2/3 day's time.. that happened to me one time last yr...

What threw me off track was the wording "seat preference". It is misleading as they are actually allocated seats.

Gah - now the LGW-BGI flight has posted to QF. This is actually very annoying.

Time to ask again that all FF numbers are removed. Then wait a day and have the AA one put in.

I think so - I just don't want to lose seat selections :(

Even the AA flight hasn't posted to AA so I think that must be going to QF :(

The annoying thing is that I never booked this to my QF number - it seems to have come from the QF upgrade :(

It's frustrating to miss out on EXP at a very critical time - I would have loved for the F upgrade to NRT :(

Removing FF numbers from the bookings should not have any impact on seat allocations.

Last time I upgraded J->F on QF, since I had a paper ticket I had to request the upgrade via the phone. The QF agent wanted to change my FF number and I had to insist (fairly strongly in the end) that I did not want her to do that. She obviously did not understand the ramification of her "kind offer"

The moral: Don't count your miles before they post

Just called QF and asked for number to be deleted. Response was "You're number isn;t in there... oh wait here it is hiding down at the bottom of the itinerary..." It's now so hopefully problems wont recur...

I have also deleted my QF number from my circle Asia - no QF flights there so no idea how it got in. They must really want to keep me ;)

Now I wonder what will happen when I do my Oz mileage run and intentionally put my QF number so as to maintain gold status with QF ;)

I try to stay away from these discussions but there is only one issue that I can see and it is not QFs fault.

You (not you specifically but the frequent flyer collective) can't have the cake and eat it too. Yes you can try but remember Murphy? People manipulating the system for their own benefit is OK but don't expect everything to work out perfectly each time. In my opinion the time and hassle spent trying to reverse the issues is not worth it.
