PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Trying to work out whether or not to pull the trigger on our family Christmas flights now...

05 DEC JQ15 CNS-KIX
19 JAN JQ16 KIX-CNS

I'm willing to wait out another week or two for a sale (an hour on the internet shows historically JQ does a Japan sale in October-ish), but not if the loading is getting full.

Re: QF1 SYD to LHR - 5th October 2013 - Upgrade chances

Exactly, so many variables. Never done J on the 380 so hoping (wishing, doing a rain dance, lighting incense) that I score one.

Upgrade changes 17Oct Syd-Lax

Hi everyone,
would anyone had an insight on what the upgrade possibilities are from PE to J on 17 Oct Sydney to LA (QF11)?
Sorry if I posted to wrong group - I tried to search the upgrade speculation thread

Re: Upgrade changes 17Oct Syd-Lax

Flight stats gives you free seat bucket info, beyond that the info is on a need to know basis only from the upgrade fairy, she could tell you but then she would have to .......

Re: Upgrade changes 17Oct Syd-Lax

There's currently 32 seats available for sale on that flight (out of a total 64) so although it's hard to say, if it was me I'd be quietly confident (depending on status)

Re: Upgrading from J to F on A380

Just saw QF52 in about a week's time: J9 C8 D7 I5 W1 R1 T1 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 S0 G0 E0

And since I have the DSC and leaves from work that I must use up, I snapped up that class T ticket (with cash). With luck, I might even get a beep at the gate.

You may be able to get SQ to connect the luggage, but at the very least if you allow enough time to collect and recheck bags in SIN you should be fine.

SQ KF came to the party and confirmed all sectors in Business, got to be happy with that.

Could someone please post the availability for QF11 Syd-Lax on 17 Oct..? Million thanks!
Check post #1 for information on how to do this yourself at no cost.

Yes, I can get that 9+ avail myself. I was more after the actual free business seats available count like the Travel Guru posted here earlier.... Sorry if I was a bit cryptic in my request :)

Apologies, those numbers were for the wrong date - I have fixed it.

That information is not publicly available - TG is a TA so may have access to more information.

All I can say is that Qantas are willing to sell 8 First, at least 9 Business, 5 Premium Economy and at least 9 Economy seats on Thursdays flight.

Interesting how for QF11 it says W5 R6 T1 - they are willing to sell more discounted PE seats than full fare ones?

QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

hi!

long time lurker, infrequent poster!
Was curious as to your thoughts on my chance of a points upgrade from Y to J on QF107 this Thursday, 17 October. I did a search on FlightStats which shows the following:

Available Seats:
First:n/aBusiness:9 (at least)Coach:9 (at least)Other:n/a
Fare Classes:J/9 C/9 D/9 I/9 U/0W/9 R/9 T/9 Z/0 Y/9 B/9 H/9 K/9 M/9 L/9 V/9 S/9 N/9 Q/9 O/0 G/0 X/0 E/0

I'm not too familiar with FlightStats, but this looks positive doesn't it? I'm a Bronze QF member.

Cheers!!

Re: QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

Its always positive when there are seats available, other than that you dont know where you are in the queue or how long it is.

Re: QF107 - SYD-LAX chance of upgrade?

Fantastic, thankyou so much. I really appreciate it.

As a follow up, based on what I have read on Lounge access - oneworld (see section entitled [h=3]oneworld lounge access for First Class or Business Class customers). Does this mean that if I get upgraded, and have a connecting flight from LAX to IAD (in economy), I could still use the AA lounge at LAX T4 because I was J on the SYD-LAX portion?[/h]

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk
