PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

SYD-DXB is pretty full, DXB-LHR a fair bit lighter though.

Interesting trip on QF 127 on Tuesday 17th Sept. Upgrade did not come thru, when i checked in there was no record of the upgrade request. Was told Y full and also Y+. I did online check in at T 24 when i did bag drop no record of upgrade request. I went to QP and asked there they could not see the upgrade request either. I was told i had to tick a box saying that i was willing to wait all the way to the gate. I thought this is what i had done. I was told at QP not to worry plane was not full and it could get a row of 3 to myself. Well plane was FULL.

I am coming back on QF 128 on the 24th Sept and was told to tick for the upgrade to be all the way to the gate, but cant find anywhere in my bookings to do this. Also is this flight fully booked?

Here are the numbers from EF:

F9 A8 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V9 S5 G0 E0

Notwithstanding W9, the seat map shows only five seats not allocated which suggests to me that PE is being oversold and, like your outbound flight, may not bode well for an upgrade from Y. Happy to be wrong with the analysis.

Haven't checked the details myself, but assuming the above is correct, then it's worth having a shot at requesting an upgrade to J.

I have had 100,00 points deducted from my FF account we were looking for 4 FF points upgrade to J from HNG to SYF on QF 128 on Tuesday 24th Sept. Seems like we have been upgraded to PE. When i do online check in i can only check in for 2 of the 4 pax. My issue is that 2 of the PAX are 3 and 11 + Mrs Starinc. I cant check in for myself and my 12 year old. It says ask at customer service. Note: points have already be deducted and all FF accounts have the same issue.

Give QF a ring and ask them if you have all been upgraded, and then to help with seat allocation if required. Then just check-in when you get to the airport.

Incidentally, Hong Kong = HKG, and Sydney = SYD

Best to pick up the phone and call, and they should be able to fix up everything. And it's HKG-SYD, but I'm sure you don't need to these details for them to fix it up. :)

It seems possible that you've got 2 x upgrades to J, rather than 4 x PE, though I wouldn't have thought they'd split up a family on the same booking.

Happytrails that would be great but how to chose who is with the 12 year old and who is with the 3? is it happy wife happy life?

Sorry, only you can answer that.
We may be getting ahead of ourselves but EF is now showing J9 with Y and PE sold out, so keep your fingers crossed.

yes i know. At the moment i can only online check in for MRS and 3 year old. On my FF QP i can't do anything for me and 12 year old. Does not matter which FF login i use it is the same. Worrying this is that it has MRS in 34F and 3 year old in 37B

You really DO need to call and as soon as possible.

Thanks serfty, the Facebook team sorted it out for me. We are in row 36 & 37. I have told that they will try and get us in one row together at checkin.

Re: Upgrading from J to F on A380

So I've got my J upgrade to F request in for QF1 from SYD-LHR this Saturday, I've been checking the availability of F seats and it seems there are still some for sale.

Being a lowly Silver member do you think I'll nab one?

Any other silvers got this upgrade before?

Re: Upgrading from J to F on A380

There may well be some F seats available. However, as you know you have WP1, WP, SG etc before PS. I have upgraded a few times on this route and missed out several times (WP). Unfortunately I dont like your chances, due to this being a VERY popular upgrade route.
Fingers crossed though. There are 4 sold seats and an additional blocked at the 5A (bassinet) seat.

Good Luck and enjoy the QF First Experience if all goes ahead.:p
