PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

'Tis I class ...
Yes, I think you need to run the Award & Availability search for SQ, but still not good news for @avinashm , I'm afraid:

EDIT: Just something else to note, is this flag on the search for award availability... your status with SQ might get you a better result than fare availability can show.

Just try a search, once logged into KF and look for a Redemption flight on that date. I'm only a KF 'nothing' level, but even I got an option for a full rate business redemption on SQ208 - some days around it have options at Saver level, as well, as the banner shows:

Would love some help for the QF2 SIN-SYD leg on the 7th and 8th of October. Have requested the release of a revenue fare on my award booking given the mess QF has caused with my booking. Currently showing as 'requested' in MMB.

Here you are - QF options out of SIN-SYD on these days:

Thanks. I'm currently on saver waitlist for the 6.25pm flight on that day. I was just trying to guess which flight has the best odds of me getting a ticket coming closer to the date.

Just a short commentary on Classic Upgrades for the QF5/6 SYD-PER/PER-SYD domestic legs on the B789

I did manage upgrades to J in both directions, but the cabin was a lot fuller Westbound - to the point I could only choose side-by-side seats for my partner and myself if I wanted a middle pair - no across-the-aisle to a window, or even tandem window pairs remained.

The CSM went through and greeted a number of WP members, including in the odd numbered windows in front and behind me, so I suspect they are snaffling their seat selection ahead of me as a lowly Silver. For both flights the upgrade confirmation arrived around 28 hours before departure time.

I'd be curious if anyone was successful with bid upgrades on these flights; for me with low status, the extra points were worthwhile to get to the front of the queue.

Great you got the upgrade.

I think only QF would know whether bid upgrades were successful or not and they wouldn't share that.

P1 can select whichever seats they want. WP can select more seats than PS but some seats are only available to WP at T-80 if not already selected.

Hi all, can someone help me check loadings on QF11 SYD-LAX on 7 Nov? Can't see any fare availabilities across any class on Qantas website - or is it fully sold out? Have a rev fare booked and submitted points upgrade but not optimistic. Thanks !

Oops sorry that should have read 3 Nov, not 7 Nov. Qantas website doesn't show QF11 on 3 Nov in any class. I have a ticketed rev fare tho, but maybe the flight's full 2.5 months out?

That makes more sense. Still strange to be fully booked this far out. There’s been a fair bit of A380 / 787 swapping on the route so possibly they have paused sales for a possible aircraft swap.
