PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

These are very interesting figures and correlate with the yield management making only the more expensive fares available because....you guessed it..... its school holiday season!!!

People complain when fuel prices go up during the holidays but seem to be quiet when airline fares go up during the same period.

Seatmap for DRW-SYD is extraordinary - only half a dozen selected seats in first half of plane; none in J; most of the rear blocked.

Could someone please check loadings on these flights for me?

28/10 SYD-KUL MH140
29/10 KUL-BKI MH2612
02/11 BKI-KUL MH2607
02/11 KUL-SYD MH123

Thanks.

Only certain fares are upgradeable.

And they believe they can sell all 9 J at the expensive bucket.

Thank you, I don't have any status, but received the email asking me if I wanted to bid on upgrades.

Is it possible to get the loadings for these as these are the ones I've booked:
(28/10 2140) SYD-KUL MH140
(02/11 1645) BKI-KUL MH2607
(02/11 2330) KUL-SYD MH123

Hi guys,

Any details on loadings for: 30/10 20:35 QF2 LHR-SYD

Cheers!

Hi johony,

Welcome to AFF :)

Here is the loading for that flight: F6 A4 J9 C9 D9 I2 W3 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0 X9

First still has at least 6 unsold seats, Business class and Economy look relatively empty, and Premium economy is almost full.

Thanks Mattg. I've got an upgrade request for Business on the way home so hopefully those 9's stay that way!

MH 2607 looks ok

Thanks everyone. I'll have another look a few days before the flights. I've put in for an MHupgrade for the SYD-KUL and KUL-SYD flights, but not sure if I should bother for the KUL-BKI and BKI-KUL flights since they are only 2h 40m flights.

For some reason MH2607 did not appear when I looked.

Value proposition difficult to quantify in most cases for short flights.

How much was the minimum asking price for "pay to upgrade" for these flights.

285AUD each way for the SYD-KUL and KUL-SYD and 75AUD each way for KUL-BKI and BKI-KUL. I'm hoping I'll be able to snag the SYD<->KUL upgrades at the minimum.

MH J domestic:
No alcohol
Catering is Satay and Lindt chocolate ball. (If you are after alternatives please reread the catering part)
No showers in domestic lounges.
Most of the 737 are tired and dated. Though they have some newer 738 in the new Boeing interior.

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if someone could check the loadings for me on these flights:

05/10 BNE-LAX QF15
10/10 LAX-BNE QF16

My wife and I already have PE seats, and I'm lifetime gold, so I'm hoping we have a good chance to be upgraded to Business.

Best regards, Paul
