PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanks. Now the waiting game...

Just checked award/UPG availability:

QF11: only 1 Z

QF108 & QF16 showing no availability in any award class at this stage.

I've only recently subscribed to EF so still getting my head around it; not sure what is the most appropriate info to pass on.

So basically no chance *head thumps desk*.
Lucky I plumped up for Y+. Hopefully some availability comes at T-24

I wouldn't despair. I'm sure that UPGs will open up if vacant seats exist close to time.

I've always taken my chances on J to F UPG on the A380, put in my request early, and only missed once.

I put the request in back in March so will see how it goes. I'll hit gold in June so I'll have to call up to update my status in the request or whatever it is they do.

I would think the status would update automatically but I guess it doesn't hurt to check. Hopefully for you that there won't be too many WPs to beat off ;).

Apparently it doesn't update automatically from what I was told previously so for the sake of a phone call out can't hurt. It's a Tuesday over but a Sunday back so might get one of them I think. I'd prefer it on the A380 if I only had one choice anyway.

See this link (it's also in post #1) for a guide:

Also have a read of post #1 with particular reference to mentions of discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Post #1 also has a tip on how to obtain fare bucket loading yourself.
QF11 8 Oct. J: 3 occupied and 1 blocked.

QF108 27 Oct. J: 9 occupied, 6 blocked.

QF16 27 Oct. J: 3 occupied, 10 blocked.
Checking allocated/blocked/free seats is generally not as useful a guide as fare bucket availability can be.

FWIW, these flights between SYD and LAX are:

QF11 8/10: F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Z1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0

QF16 28/10: J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0

QF108 27/10: J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0

These flights are currently "wide Open" - however, October is really too far out to get any useful prediction. if you see something like that a week before a flight, points upgrades would be almost certain, but you can't "say' that currently (although it's not too shabby).

How did you manage to copy the fare bucket list from EF into your reply?

Business looks fairly open:

F1 A0 P0 J9 C9 D9 I6 U0 W9 R9 T4 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9

I think a WP on this flight has a reasonable chance for an upgrade (D6 / T2). Note that for Business, I availability would be more promising.

At about T-48, the flight went to J7, rest of J buckets were 0, can't remember the Y+ buckets. I tried to OLCI at T-24/23.5 and couldn't; it went straight to a "Go to the airport" message.
At T-23, I got the upgrade SMS. :D

Hi all

Can anyone give me a read on F, A & P class availability on these two flights please:

Thursday 16th May 2013 QF127 SYD/HKG
Sunday 19th May 2013 QF128 HKG/SYD

Much appreciated :)

Re: y+ to J

I tried to look up some flights on flightstats as per the first post on this thread by my flights don't come up - any help? My flights are about 4 weeks away so I wasn't going to ask someone to look it up for me just yet but it seems I can't even do it myself. (I tried QF 23 SYD-BKK on June 6 but it doesn't show it)

Re: y+ to J

I'm still pretty new at all this. I looked up the flight loadings for QF107 on May 7th in Economy on www.flightstats.com and got:

W5, R5, T1, Z0, Y9, B9, H9, K9, M9, L9, V9, S9, N9, Q9, O9, G0, X9, E0.

Do all those 9's indicate a lightly loaded flight? How does one tell if there are literally 9 empty seats or if there are potentially 90 empty seats? What can be extrapolated from the different classes i.e. some being 9 and some being 0? I'm keen to learn more about this.
