PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Looks reasonable at this time. Good luck
Could I please ask someone to check this flight again? Flying tomorrow night and no sign of upgrade yet sadly...
Its QF24 departing BKK on Friday 4 January. Many thanks.

Unfortunately all zeroes in all the J categories. Doesn’t look good.

I’d prepare for failure, though there may be a slim chance yet. Are you solo or a multi request?

Thanks... 2 pax on the one request... sigh....
Hmmm. I believe these are harder. Probably the only scenario where traveling solo gets you cheaper or better access.

I think you are out of luck. Must have been a lot of higher status pax ahead of you too.

Yeah I guess. Was still 8 J seats only a few days ago.. I am WP so must be P1/CLs who got the upgrades. We got the upgrade on QF23 on Boxing Day so I guess both ways was hoping for too much!

Could someone kindly help with the loading in J of the following 2 flights please
QF129 SYD to PVG on 10 Jan
QF130 PVG to SYD on 14 Jan

I am a WP hoping to move up from economy. thanks in advance.

Means most likely the P1s and CLs had already been processed. So could just be J seats were actually purchased in those few days.

Let us know if you get lucky!

So the J seats must have been purchased between Monday 31 December and Thursday 3 January - interesting that 8 J seats had been sold in only 4 days.
So there was no beep when scanning boarding pass so enjoyed the flight in Economy.

I wish there was Premium Economy on this route - would happily pay the cash for these seats.

I wouldn’t normally assume this would happen but staying at an Auckland hotel full of tennis players this week, whose schedules change depending on when they get knocked out but need to travel to Australia for the Aussie Open — I can easily see how several J or F tickets can suddenly be snapped up when a top player and their entourage need to change flights.

That said, I also think having two pax in the upgrade request counted against you.

Absolutely agree, getting two pax upgraded on a peak period flight is a big ask at the best of times, was very surprised that we got the upgrade for 2 pax on QF23 on Boxing Day! Anyway, 9 hours in Economy didn't kill me and I get to keep the 100,000 points for something else!

Quick question for this forum.

ExpertFlyer for QF1 20 Jan SYD-LHR is showing J9 C9 D9 I0 W2 R0. But the Seat Map for J is showing only 8 seats unassigned.

Any ideas greatly appreciated - as I have put in for a Flex Y to J upgrade, as WP

Thanks in advance

Hey all, might be a bit early but wanted to check the availability on QF73 to SFO on 21/1/19. I'm looking for a Y -> J upgrade (I'm WP), the flight doesn't seem too full but wanted to check.

I might also enquire closer to the date and see if it's changed much.

Thank you in advance.

Look at First - QF may be willing to sell First Suite for J prices.

I'd go a little further and suggest breaking it down to SYD-SIN and SIN-LHR to get a fuller picture.
