PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hey all, might be a bit early but wanted to check the availability on QF73 to SFO on 21/1/19. I'm looking for a Y -> J upgrade (I'm WP), the flight doesn't seem too full but wanted to check.

I might also enquire closer to the date and see if it's changed much.

Thank you in advance.

Still a way off so ask again closer to the date

Quick question for this forum.

ExpertFlyer for QF1 20 Jan SYD-LHR is showing J9 C9 D9 I0 W2 R0. But the Seat Map for J is showing only 8 seats unassigned.

Any ideas greatly appreciated - as I have put in for a Flex Y to J upgrade, as WP

Thanks in advance
The three blocked seats aren’t necessarily assigned. Could be being kept for CLs, and one could be a shadow. Possibly also in anticipation of several J to F upgrades so showing plenty of J for sale.

It's showing F9 A9 for those flights, and 10 unassigned seats in F so that could be the reason. Anyway, fingers crossed for the upgrade fairy to pay a visit
Cheers

Could someone please give the figures for QF36 SIN-MEL 27 Jan? Yes jb747s final flight. I've booked in Y+ and requested an upgrade to J.

Not very optimistic but you've got to be in it to win it.

Hi Guys, not sure if this is the correct place to ask but seemed to suit best.

Every year i am flying back home to Germany (PER to HAM) over Christmas and New Years to see family. I am QF Platinum and try to fly either either Business or First (reward) with Emirates codeshare. In the past i have usually managed to get those if i booked early enough (around march) to fly mid dec to mid jan return. However ever since Qantas introduced the London direct flights i feel like availability has diminished to a point where even now 11 months ahead there is nothing available. It's too early to book return, but even one way there is already nothing available for mid dec (any class).
The same happened last year and i thought that had to do with the introduction of PER-LHR and had to fork out return business myself and i'd like to avoid having to pay that much again. I currently have 420k points available.

Appreciate any help / pointers!

EDIT:
I just realized that with emirates you can only book 330 days in advance and with qantas 353. That explains everything. Never mind i guess!

Hi all,

Trying to book QF7 SYD>DFW on 15 November 2019 in F. Seats showing on my computer in Chrome and Safari - went to book and after entering all my details got the dreaded We are unable to confirm your selected flights. Select ‘Start over’ and choose alternative flights. (15079 - 421).

I called Qantas and had a helpful lady who said zero seats in J or F are showing up for the month of November on QF7, and she said to make sure I had the latest version of Flash and Pop ups enabled. I did those things but my computer is still showing lots of availability - has this happened to anyone else?? So I haven't been able to book anything.

I'm Qantas Club Bronze. Thanks!

Update: the error seemed to stem from changing my dad's details to mine. So I did a family transfer and just booked the flight under my own account. Qantas recently adjusted the site to have an aggressive pop up when you try to edit details in the name section so I wonder if this is a bit buggy

Hi guys,
Still a month away but wanted to check what are my chances of scoring an upgrade from PE to J
15/02 QF29 MEL-HK
19/02 QF98 HK-BNE

I'm aware it's just post-chinese NY but we are doing this to celebrate my birthday. Would be grateful if anyone can let me know.

Thanks :)

Thanks @pjm99au, hopefully it doesn't change! would be an awesome birthday treat. Funny enough at the time there weren't any J award seats available, hence why we decided to do PE on a DSC offer.

Can someone please check the loadings of QF544 SYD-BNE on 20 Jan?

Also QF540, QF562 and QF542 if possible.

Interested in knowing if QF544 is full or light load and Qantas looking to cancel flight. I've been offered the other 3 flights.
